i'd rather watch a blu-ray.
the second one was flawless and the picture is spectacular with blu-ray (1080p) and upconverted standard (480) dvd resolutions.
hd sporting events look amazing, and blueray movies are simply stunning on this tv.it has a network interface which can stream youtube videos, show pictures, and even tell you the current weather.
but when you get this tv home and plug it into your blue-ray...
i watched a blu-ray of x-men in both 1080p and 720p, and the difference was imperceptible to me.
the 120hz feature is interesting as it makes my current dvd (soon to be blu-ray) look unbelievable at 480p.
i don't have a blueray dvd player so i hooked my old sony progressive scan dvd player up to it through the component video.
i purchased this tv after christmas along with the bd-550 blu-ray and they are a perfect match.
i purchased the sony w series lcd tv a few weeks ago bundled with the sony bluray and i couldn't be more pleased.
can not wait until i get a blu-ray and see true 1080p.
i have yet to run a blu-ray movie through it, but my ps3 is hooked up and playing some littlebigplanet on it looks twice as nice as playing on my old sony 52 inch 1080i rear projection set.
otherwise this set is spectacular, i've watched several blu-rays on it and with some adjustments of the "custom" setting - breathtaking!
i'm also waiting for my first blueray disk to show up.
24p mode has excessive flicker which makes that mode unusable, but bluray movies look amazing anyway.

today i added one more feature - connected my 3 year old mac mini and am using it as a dvd player - not blu-ray but a commendable job.
we have a blu-ray player and it is as if the picture is jumping out of the screen.
it has an excellent picture and came with a bluray player.
the sharp has the sleekest look, and this buy is great as it comes with blue-ray player which i haven't figured out yet but will.
so about "4 tv's, 2 stomps and 3 huff and puffs from my girlfriend for not making up my mind'' later, i wanted to get a 120hz televison, mainly because of the smooth motion effect w/ blu-ray.
looks excellent with blu-ray, hd cabel and the nintendo wii.
blu-ray movies, ps3, xbox 360, directv...all of them looked amazing.
only gave it 4 stars due to my limited time for setup, regular dish programming and a samsung blueray dvd player (awsome!).
i have already hooked up my ps3 and watched a couple blu-rays on it and cannot wait to watch more.
sure it is not as good as a surround sound system, but no tv is.i love this tv with my samsung blu-ray player.

this tv gets its fair share of multiple content: blu-ray, ps3 gaming & directv hd programming.
overall i'm not disappointed and plan on buying an additional 55" for my living room, with a pair for 5.1 or 7.1 speakers and blue-ray it will be amazing!
some dvds, blu-rays, and television stations produce a signal that has a jutter to it.
after i mounted it, i installed it with hdmi cables to a blu-ray player and cable box.
downside, the quality of blu-ray movies on this tv is so good we keep adding to our library; it's getting expensive.
but over all the picture quality is fantastic, plus it would look even better with a blueray player.
will add blu-ray and a flat panel audio system.

i got the tv bundled with the sony blu-ray and was nothing short of astonished by the picture quality watching a blu-ray move in full 1080p.

this is a great tv right out the box, it has a crystal clear picture and i got a free blu-ray player to boot.
i hooked it up to the sharp aquos bdhp21u 1080p blu-ray disc player and they integrate very well together.
when paired with a sony blu-ray adjusting to full volume does not bring it to an adequate listening level.
this tv is great i love it you need a blueray to see what it can really do but even in 1080i and 720p it is good buy it!!
i don't believe the toshiba is a true 240 hz.this tv looks amazingly sharp in both comcast hd and blurays with very very very very little blur.
for the past two years i have used a samsung 46" lcd (720p) with the bdp-1500 blu-ray player and it was great.
video game systems, dvd/blue-ray player, dvr, etc.).
the only thing that i'm trying to get used to is watching movies on blu-ray.
i dusted off the xbox 360 hd-dvd player and watched transformers again.

i have not been able to view blue-ray movies on it yet but my comcast hd channels are displayed in splendid hd by this tv (even though i heard rumors that comcast compresses its hd channels).
when watching a blu-ray it feels as if i am looking through a window watching the movie being filmed.
houston.this is one heck of a tv for the price.the new samsung led tv gives you a bit sharper picture but for $2000 more,no thanks.works right out of box and with bluray disc it is magnificent.

plus blu-ray is the only format right now that used 1080p, broadcasters don’t use 1080p right now, and from what i read it's not in the near future.

i will say that if you want a tv at this size, regardless of what tv you get, you should shell out the bucks for hd broadcasting or at least a blu-ray player.

i did have to get an ethernet switch to hook both the tv and samsung blu-ray player up to my apple airport extreme, but updating the hdtv firmware was simple.
after that wore off, i started to get annoyed by the amount of motion blur and how hard it was to see fast-moving scenes in blu-ray movies (dark knight).
the ps3 games and blu-ray movies are jaw dropping.
i use the ps3 for bluray and it is excellent on this tv.

the 240hz setting is really just beneficial during fast moving sports, but without it movies on blu-ray look amazing.
