120hz takes awhile to get used to because it takes the grainy look from film and makes the picture clear.
anyone who has seen a movie on it is shocked as to how clear and realistic the picture is.
however, while i had it the picture was great with blu ray and hd dvd.
(it has different e-modes for sports, movies and games) the non-reflective screen makes for good viewing in our family room, which has lots of windows.
it almost make it seem like the characters are right there in the room with you when you are watching blu-ray movies.
it literally feels like you are sitting on set with the cast instead of watching movie magic.
i have an lg 42" with a very good picture but my new samsung ln46a860 is absolutely "jaw dropping.i am not new to hi def by any means, so this isn't from someone recently discovering the clarity of it
as i looked at tvs, i found the sonys to be their usual wonderful selves, but i found the samsungs to be incredible.try as i might, i could not get away from the brilliance of the pictures.
so far it has performed flawlessly and the picture quality is outstanding.
the picture quality is superb, and it has the features i need without too many useless extras.
beats every lcd i compared it with for picture quality, period!
this is an amazing tv, beautiful crisp clean picture, with perfect color right out of the box.
its image quality is breathtaking...
the color qaulity and clarity of image will take your breath away.
a)download all your digital pictures at picasa web album and watch it on big screen tv with a sweet background score as you watch the slide show.
the picture is unbelievable, we watched a 3-d movie the other night and it was incredible.
we have hooked up to surround sound and watching movies and hd cable channels are totally different experience.
we have watched several movies and our local cable hd channels quite a bit and we are all very impressed.
the tv is great and with a sony bravia-sync'ed upgrading dvd ($79) we get 1080p video which makes the blu-ray issue moot, for us anyway.

i also have a panasonic 42" plasma which has been number one rated in the past for picture quality and i can tell you the samsung 650 rivals it.
picture quality was comparable to the best.
compared to other manufacturers, samsung has the best picture in this price range and size.
this tv had the best picture quality for the price.
i am extremely pleased with the picture quality and style of the tv.
i haven't seen a blu ray movie yet but what i can see so far watching high def it should be spectacular.
even at it's regular price of $1699 it's much cheaper then a xbr or sharp aquos and the picture is just as good.
setup was very easy with hdmi cables for cable-box and blu-ray dvd.
with the dnr and the 120hz there's hardly any blur with fast action.
after watching a movie or playing the wii, the tv does not recognize the satellite input after changing the source back to the hdmi.
black: while light pumping can be seen at times, if you let go and watch the movie it is barely noticeable.
(do not buy if you want a "thin" or "slim bezel" tv, only get it if you want the best picture and movie quality on the screen itself.
the picture is so crisp and clear and the black level really black that it took a while to get used to watching it.
but, i bought it really for just watching hd tv and movies.
i also have been quite pleased with the up-scaled quality of standard broadcast and typical dvd content.
the picture quality and sound are awesome...i love it!!!
it got their highest rating for hd picture quality and scored ''very good'' in all other categories except the one for the remote's ease of use in which it still scored ''good''.
can't wait to get a blue ray for 1080p movies..
great hd lcd picture and sound.
i have a 1080p upscaling dvd player hooked up to it and it looks great although i do wish i would have gotten a blu-ray player.
