when watching a blu-ray it feels as if i am looking through a window watching the movie being filmed.
the 120hz works great for sports although with 120hz turned on for movies it makes the film look like video, its hard to explain, just looks unatural.
i cant wait to add a blue ray player and watch a movie on it.
i have not been able to view blue-ray movies on it yet but my comcast hd channels are displayed in splendid hd by this tv (even though i heard rumors that comcast compresses its hd channels).
the picture we get with the ln52a630 is so good that with some movies it takes on almost a 3d quality.
it literally feels like you are sitting on set with the cast instead of watching movie magic.
i have an lg 42" with a very good picture but my new samsung ln46a860 is absolutely "jaw dropping.i am not new to hi def by any means, so this isn't from someone recently discovering the clarity of it
as i looked at tvs, i found the sonys to be their usual wonderful selves, but i found the samsungs to be incredible.try as i might, i could not get away from the brilliance of the pictures.

otherwise picture quality is impeccable, colors vibrant.
it has great picture quality and two the two side speakers, the sound is excellent.
picture quality is amazing, 120hz is great for movies, as it's an even multiple of 24fps.
you probably don't need it though when just watching regular hd tv or movies since the nature of all 120hz tvs makes the picture look more like video rather than film.
so far, we've connected it to our satellite system, a dvd player, a macbook pro, and an ipod.
it was like watching a vcr and dvd side by side.
the hd picture is breathtaking; the sound is good, and i just love recording and waching movies on it.
connections could be better, like including a firewire port "my wife and i did tons of research and the bravia offered the sharpest and best picture quality than similarly priced flat screens.
really good sound on this sony, picture i havent really seen much since i dont have no hd media but comparing it to my old tv while i was watching a dvd picture is much much more better.
from watching sports or movies to playing video games, this tv makes it all more fun!
not to big that it distorts compressed broadcasts, but big enough for great movie viewing.
we use it for ps3, blue ray movies, and xbox360 and love how all of them look on it.
my wife only wanted a sony.....well after looking for several weeks, i (finally) convinced her that the samsung picture quality was the best out there -- it simply is the bestpicture quality imo.
this was my first lcd flat panel purchase and i am completely satisfied with the picture quality, the features and the ease of installation!

this tv is so great that it makes dvds look better and standard definition video looks great!
you could use it for everything sports, movies, videogames.
what's great about it:?great picture - exterior color looks very sharp.
what's not so great:?is "choppy" when you watch action movies/games.
the picture quality is next to none and i have researched tones of televisions of all brands and versions(lcd, plasma and dlp).
not everyone will notice it, but same can be noticed in very fast action scenes..
this samsung plasma tv was made for blue-ray dvd movies you have to see it to believe it.
i'm having difficulty figuring it out, ie, changing picture size or switching from tv to dvd, etc.
we got it about 2 weeks ago and the picture and sound is excellent.the size is just right.

the beutiful picture quality, slim bezel, and the thin design were all driving factors in the purchase of this tv.
the olympics in hd but have not yet tried a dvd - on vivid setting the picture is extremely bright and sharp - maybe too bright; there are custom controls for the picture that we have not tried yet.
what's great about it:?super clear picture, deep blacks, stylish super-thin design, nice, intuitive interface and setup what's not so great:?sound is below average "did a lot of research for a new

what's great about it:?great picture and sound and good for the envirment.
i just had this product this week and my kids said "its like being there in the movie-watching it live." i am still learning the rest of the features.
secondly, it converts movies to match the film standard of 24 frames a second so there is little or no motion blur.
the picture and sound quality are superb for both hd and sd programs and the multiple hdmi and component inputs made it easy to hook up hd cable, dvd-r and computer and still have room to add blu-ray
i still can't get internet service on it or watch my dvd - that's because i have not connected the rest of the cords; will do so soon.
i have not had any problems with the remote at all and it works well controlling both the tv and my dvd player.
additional thoughtswe thought for $100 more it came with a built in dvd player but only hookup for them.
due to a distance issue, i have not seen it personaly but she says it has a great picture and sound(read a couple of reviews that the sound was less than desired).
i have also streamed a few hd movies from netflix and they look wonderful as well.
i was watching a blue-ray movie within 10 minutes of receiving my hdtv, the blue-ray movies look so real on this hdtv.
great picture quality.
even at it's regular price of $1699 it's much cheaper then a xbr or sharp aquos and the picture is just as good.
except as stated by another review, all auto-picture settings should be turned off for best picture.
hd with the cablebox brings out the best picture i have seen compared to other tvs i looked at.
the picture and sound quality are superb.
this set in my opinion offers the best picture available.
i waited because i wasn't thrilled with the picture quality of plasma or other lcds compared to crt.
it offers outstanding picture quality and unlike other sets of this size it does not weigh a ton.
but, you won't want to turn it off because the clarity, detail, brightness, contrast and color are absolutely exceptional.
the picture quality, light weight, reduced power use, and thin cabinet are just terrific.
picture quality, sound!!, and ease of use what's not so great:?a little higher in price but well well worth it!
brightest and best picture quality i have ever seen, and i have had 4 tvs within last 2 years.
old black and white movies are simply gorgeous with terrific sharpness and contrast.
i also went to stores and reviewed all of the top tv's, having the sales associate let me play with the settings to see what the pictures should really look like in a home setting.
compression is running at the limit, but this tv does an incredible job of not only smoothing out the inter-frame judder, but it remarkably sharpens the picture for those interpolated frames as well.
it has a good clear picture.
the screen looks fine from far away, but you cannot be too close or it gets very blurry and pixeled.
(from channel 01 to 99) additional thoughtsshopping around i looked at sharp, samsung, sony tvs this vizio 26" offered very similar picture quality if not better at a few hundred dollars less.
very happy with the picture quality, size and price!
the picture quality is quite good considering i just have cable.
