i perform graphic color correction for a living so it is with a highly critical eye that i was judging picture quality and color.
the picture quality is great - i have it hooked up to comcast hd box and a samsung blue-ray player.
the sound quality is good, but you'll need to add a sound system for it to match the picture quality.
image quality is every bit as good as others say, dvds look crisp and bright.
easy to set up and a wide variety of settings to get the best picture.
when watching a blu-ray it feels as if i am looking through a window watching the movie being filmed.
the 120hz works great for sports although with 120hz turned on for movies it makes the film look like video, its hard to explain, just looks unatural.
i cant wait to add a blue ray player and watch a movie on it.
i have not been able to view blue-ray movies on it yet but my comcast hd channels are displayed in splendid hd by this tv (even though i heard rumors that comcast compresses its hd channels).
the picture we get with the ln52a630 is so good that with some movies it takes on almost a 3d quality.
i find that it is very evident with shows and commercials that are filmed with hd cameras.
the picture is stunning in hd, bluray and dvd's and i can even say standard def tv is not too bad either, although once you watch hd it is hard too settle for standard def.
as far as srt feature is concerned it actually makes a heck of a difference with your good old dvd player (@ 480p resolution).
if you have an upconverting dvd player you need to disable it to get srt to work.
i also have two sony dvd players (same model) one for the philips and one for the toshiba.
(click anywhere inside this popup to close it) what's great about it:?excellent picture quality, good amount of connectivity, a nice selection of features what's not so
mostly use it to play video games and movies while occasionally watching some basic cable.
what's great about it:?picture quality for price what's not so great:?nothing so far "went to best buy for a particular samsung, after a year researching hdtvs, but it was out of stock - thankfully.
watching blu-ray movies and up-converted dvd's look awesome.
the dvds when upconverted to 1080p look just as great as blue ray.
i don't have any hd input for it yet, but my laserdiscs, dvd's, and basic cable look fantastic.
any pixar movie looks awesome on here, i have to yet get a blu-ray pixar to see what it looks like.
excellent picture, and looks much better on the wall than it does in the stock photos.
otherwise picture quality is impeccable, colors vibrant.
it has great picture quality and two the two side speakers, the sound is excellent.
my wife only wanted a sony.....well after looking for several weeks, i (finally) convinced her that the samsung picture quality was the best out there -- it simply is the bestpicture quality imo.
this was my first lcd flat panel purchase and i am completely satisfied with the picture quality, the features and the ease of installation!
well i loved it when i first got it, the picture quality was great until it broke.
this tv is so great that it makes dvds look better and standard definition video looks great!
you could use it for everything sports, movies, videogames.
i had been wanting to pick up a new flat-screen to replace our 27' tube tv (it was losing some of the clarity).
its got a great picture of hd with the hdmi cable, its got different picture mode settings, i prefer the standard mode for the standard channels caz it seems the picture is extra crispy.
and i've had it for the shortest time.picture quality is great for a tv like this.
although this is only 720p hd but the its high contrast & deep color quality makes it compete with my 1080p sharp.
tons of on screen menu's to tweak your tv for gaming, sports and movie settings etc.
the picture is amazing in 1080i (i don't yet have a blu-ray dvd player and have only watched broadcast hd so far) and i am especially enjoying college football games in hd.
watching bluray movies is amazing on this tv, you feel like you are right there.
the picture quality and clarity are significantly better than our old set.
the beutiful picture quality, slim bezel, and the thin design were all driving factors in the purchase of this tv.
the olympics in hd but have not yet tried a dvd - on vivid setting the picture is extremely bright and sharp - maybe too bright; there are custom controls for the picture that we have not tried yet.
i just had this product this week and my kids said "its like being there in the movie-watching it live." i am still learning the rest of the features.
secondly, it converts movies to match the film standard of 24 frames a second so there is little or no motion blur.
the picture and sound quality are superb for both hd and sd programs and the multiple hdmi and component inputs made it easy to hook up hd cable, dvd-r and computer and still have room to add blu-ray
i still can't get internet service on it or watch my dvd - that's because i have not connected the rest of the cords; will do so soon.
i have not had any problems with the remote at all and it works well controlling both the tv and my dvd player.
even at it's regular price of $1699 it's much cheaper then a xbr or sharp aquos and the picture is just as good.
except as stated by another review, all auto-picture settings should be turned off for best picture.
hd with the cablebox brings out the best picture i have seen compared to other tvs i looked at.
the picture and sound quality are superb.
great picture quality.
what's great about it:?picture quality; easy set up of tv & peripherals what's not so great:?sound!!!
we have a 32" sharp and love it, but we were very disappointed in the 19" sharp sound quality.
had to send to sharp direct repair for service.
after alot of research we decided on the sharp 19'?
share this review: review?3?for?sharp 19" lc19sb25u 720p lcd hdtv overall: 4 [ratingof] 5 picture quality: 4 [ratingof] 5 features/connectivity: 5 [ratingof] 5
picture quality, sound!!, and ease of use what's not so great:?a little higher in price but well well worth it!
brightest and best picture quality i have ever seen, and i have had 4 tvs within last 2 years.
old black and white movies are simply gorgeous with terrific sharpness and contrast.
i also went to stores and reviewed all of the top tv's, having the sales associate let me play with the settings to see what the pictures should really look like in a home setting.
compression is running at the limit, but this tv does an incredible job of not only smoothing out the inter-frame judder, but it remarkably sharpens the picture for those interpolated frames as well.
after playing around with all the pix options - and there are a lot of choices - i ended up with video that was incredible....an amazing improvement on my 3yr old sharp (which i had thought was
i am not sure why the last reviewer discussed the 47' tv they found for far less, that is true but that's because the other tv's wont produce the picture quality of this tv and this tv blows all
you can view the image from any angle and the tru-motion/local dimming features make for a significantly sharp/contrasted image.
after working with multimedia encoding and 3d graphics, i've discovered that ignorance is sometimes bliss.
it was easy to hook up, easy to program and has a picture quality that is second to none.
sharp picture, good colors.
i have already watched sports, television and dvds and all have been as crisp, vibrant, without drag or latency, as i have ever seen on an lcd this size.
the picture quality of hd broadcasts (over timewarner cable) is very good, and standard broadcasts are not bad at all (better than expected).
the picture quality for hd is great.
buy sony or sharp.
pros: aside from being huge :) this lcd tv presents a very clear picture, even when not using hdmi (though i've since purchased an hdmi cable for our satellite receiver.) dvd's look aweseom, blu-ray
the picture quality is amazing, with many options to customize it to fit your preferences.
it beats hands down the picture quality i get from the supposed hd dvr cable box i get from my cable company.
i have owned many televisions and most brands, without question this lg has the best picture and color.
the intelligent lighting feature makes the clarity great in any light.
i don't believe you can get a better picture quality on a 32" than the lg70 1080p and the price is unbeatable.
along with a great picture, the nice glossy black frame looks very sharp.
the tv is large, the image is crisp and clear, bottomline is that it works.
i think it was worth it, though, because we have no complaints about the color, picture quality, or features.
black in a brightly lit room, and a slower refresh rate that might matter if i were playing a fast-paced video game, but hasn't been noticeable at all for watching tv (including sports) and movies.
i dont care what they tell you in the stores because i had both and we watched the same blu ray dvds and xbox 360 games on both to know the picture looks the same on both.
