about that i have a xbox 360 that i connected to this tv with a high quality hdmi cable and switched my xbox to 1080p and it accepted it along with my hd dvd player.

i guess if you watch alot of day time tv, or movies with all your lights on; you might still require an lcd, but otherwise i will always now prefer the crisp lines and deep darks of the plasma.
