The gear housing broke after a year and since then it has been in for repairs twice. I mean that literally, the design reminded me of something out of Detroit in the Fifties where sheer mass was the answer. The fit and finish of external parts is excellent. When tightened with vigor, the tightening nob that holds excessories like a grinder (which works very well) in place, no longer falls into the mixing bowl while something is being mixed.
