I loved the XHD3000 monitor initially, from the first day I turned it on. It has a beautiful picture and all the various inputs anyone can ask for. from Amazon.com This is the only 30" display (in May 2009) I could find that wd work with a 2008 iMac. (The Apple 30s cannot utilize the whole screen.) Quality is all right with mini DVI to DVI adapter. I read using the iMac and put reference material on the Gateway. The display for the first 1/2 hour has random pixels twinkling on and off against my black desktop like fireflies. from Amazon.com Forget about it. Cost to repair=cost of new monitor. Won't ever buy Gateway again. Save yourself and do the same. from Amazon.com I bought my Gateway 30" Monitor through Amazon on March 17th. Just over a month later, the logic board in the monitor died, and was unable to display a picture. from Amazon.com As with all the previous owners I have experienced the same type of problems with GATEWAY and their ridiculous support! I was put on hold numerous times and switched from one "specialist" to the next about 4 or 5 times with NO answers! from Amazon.com Cons: Everything else. If monitor is turned off (IE. no power to brick), loses ALL settings and you must start from scratch - Gateway Tech claimed not so on pre-purchase call. Although its big, the lack of support and bugs make this a disposable $900 monitor. If this is the best gateway can do, then I wouldn't consider buying anything from them...based on other reviews here my viewpoint is common among actual owners. from Amazon.com However, the inputs that were the most important for me were the DVI and HDMI connectors because I thought I could use them to connect two computers to the monitor and get full 2560x1600 digital pictures from both. Well, I was wrong - the DVI port will give you full 2560x1600 resolution, but the HDMI port will only give you 1920x1200 resolution. Gateway obviously figures that all users would use the HDMI port for entertainment devices such as DVD players or game consoles. I tried to use my graphics card's driver facility to create a custom resolution for 2560x1600 res on HDMI connection, but that does not work, so it seems the HDMI input is hardware-restricted to the 1920x1200 res max. from Amazon.com The screen comes preloaded with a commercial built into itself that runs every 30 seconds which means it has memory and some OS inside and even that is totally buggy, you get stuck watching this built in commercial once in a while until you turn it off. My screen personally flickers just like lots of other people , it often times just wont recognize inputs when they are on. I'm getting mine replaced by gateway just pay attention to your warranties!!! The price on this screen is cheap rite now, i suppose gateway is fazing this screen out for something less buggy and maybe they can make a profit, i hear a high percentage of people with this screen return them or get them repaired. from Amazon.com Great while it worked, after about a year it devloped flaws that made it unusable. Severe banding, flickering and screen flutter. I've contaced Gateway and they have no solution. They are unable to repair the item. from Amazon.com
