even with the poor cable, this television manages to clean up the signal and make it look crisp and sharp. from Tigerdirect.com i have my toshiba hd dvd player connected via hdmi, and the dvd pictures are gorgeous.i would recomment this television to anyone. from Bestbuy.com out of all the brands i checked on the sharp aquos has the best picture and sound,it does not weigh much and i am very happy with it.i hope it lasts as long as my other sharp tv. from Circuitcity.com we liked the sharp as we felt it had a better overall picture along with three hdmi inputs which was important so we could add all of our other equipment and have the best picture quality possible. from Dell.com a few here have complained about the sound, but i think it is very good quality.the only con i could have with this product is that it doesn't display blacks very well - especially watching a movie from Bestbuy.com but once i got the adjustments i like, it is the best picture of any brand i've ever looked at. from Dell.com took back a sony xbr4 40' would not fit in the space in mind i was heartbrokendecided to try the sharp 42' and with expecting the worse was really surprized at the picture quality and it was $1000 from Circuitcity.com i like to change the screen size and also the fast motion setting is great for action movies or sports.i would recommend this product for the money. from Circuitcity.com it also has lots of input options, so you can connect cable, dvd and 2 additional. from Bestbuy.com are vibrant and the image is crystal clear (like looking through a window!) i have it hooked up to a ps3 and xbox360, and have played games and watched hi-def as well as upscaled normal-def movies. from Circuitcity.com
