After much shopping around, the Toshiba 42HL167 offered the best quality for the money. Easy set-up and intuitive remote. from Circuitcity.com The fist one I bought had a major picture malfunction within the first day,so I had to return it. Circuit City exchanged it,and the new one has been working great for a month now. I have it hooked up to a pioneer VSX-517K 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiverand a Toshiba A30 HD-DVD player and the picture is perfect. Because I use the Pioneer I am not sure about the quality of the sound from the 42HL167. from Circuitcity.com This is a fine LCD tv. It was favorably reviewed yet it gets undeservedly poor marks at Crutchfield. I have the 42HL 167 in my living room and it produces a SPECTACULAR picture in HD. When I was deciding which set to buy I went to a showroom and looked at various brands and the picture on the Toshiba was as good or better that the Sonys and Samsungs. from Crutchfield.com I bought The Toshiba Regza 42HL167 from amazon for 1265 (no tax and free shipping).
