As usual, I spent an extraordinary amount of time researching the latest in large flat screen LCD televisions - the Mitsubishi LT-52249 seemed to have the most going for it, especially with the multitude of small speakers across the front - the wireless sub-woofer was also an attraction since I did not want to pop for a surround system at this time - even though the speaker system has a built in electronic sound focus system it doesn't seem to do much - the picture quality is just "OK" - certainly not up to the sharpness I had expected - at times the picture seems to be immersed in fog - I have fiddled with the manual picture tuning procedures but it still is not up to the quality one would expect from the elevated purchase price or the specs that are advertised - I was wooed away from Sony products which was a mistake in this case - Sony has always produced the picture quality I like but their speaker system is usually weak at best - I would not recommend this Mitsubishi for a high end LCD television
