I bought this because Kingston is known for quality, but they really dropped the ball this time. My DataTraveler worked a grand total of 3 times before it permanently malfunctioned. from Amazon.com I bought this (16GB version) because it was inexpensive and small - just what I wanted. And it was a Kingston product, very reliable brand. Boy, was I wrong! from Amazon.com These are used in automotive and hydraulics as vac and dust caps. Seems to be solidly made...though the "eyelet" part at the top is a bit thin. This flash drive does have some software on it (a kind of mini OS?)...but I find it of little real use and will probably reformat the drive to FAT32. There are a few tech reviews on this drive...some saying it is fairly fast...and some saying it is slow...so who knows? from Amazon.com It feels cheap. And I understand that it's tiny but I own a smaller thumb drive and it has a harder casing and works every single time. Kingston should go back and beef up the plastic below the connection to give this thing a tighter fit. Only after then would I recommend it at all. from Amazon.com The size allows for easy transportation. It can easily be stored on your keyring without adding any extra weight and adding no real bulk. Although it is small, Kingston was able to make a decently sturdy design that does have transfer rates at true 2.0 speed.
