Best Firewalls with IKE Encryption Standards for Internet

the phrase 'cisco powers the internet' is considerably more than just a marketing slogan.

pros: solid performance home to medium sized business, full set of security measures, vpn capabilities cons: need to understand how networks and internet works.

pros: i bought this device last year and had it set up to run within two days due to my searching the internet for a template (i found one).

i had been using the fvs114 router for 7 months when it started to frequently drop internet connection.

the web ui fails to respond to connection requests, it loses the ability to communicate with the internet and the only solution is to cycle power.

though i feel that this vpn firewall has alot of great features for its price range, the underlying issue with my internet connection constantly dropping made this a bad buy.

its 100 mb wan port is the only plus i got out of this router so while it was up i could get the full potential of my internet service but this will soon join my old 10 mb router at the garbage dump

this is for anyone who has multiple internet connections, multiple static ip addresses, multiple home servers, or any other problem that a "home router" can't handle.

perhaps if i had not used a linksys wrt54g and an apple timecapsule on the same internet connection the problem would not have been so annoying but i did and it was.

comments: i love the features, but i cannot recommend this router.it suffers from constant reboots/resets, causing a loss of internet connection for a period of time.

if your wan (out-going internet) line exceeds 10mbps, don't waste your time.

after 8 hours of trouble shooting with 3 different os, the internet connection was still unreliable.
