It's magic. . Unfortunately, D-Link doesn't tell you how the magic can go wrong. The box doesn't know about bad web sites. from Mwave.com "I think that D-link has great potential here, but the execution is sorely lacking." from Thetechlounge.com Cons: The only feature that I think is missing is the ability to engage parental controls using MAC addresses. Depending on how irritating the site blocking is, I may just set up a separate wifi network for the adults and use the new router as switch to combine the two networks. I'm just assuming if I DMZ the DSD-150 that it will work fine behind the other router. Other Thoughts: Some problems with setup that I eventually got figured out. from Newegg.com Terrible execution. I hope there is a version two of this product where numerous defects can be addressed. D-LINK also needs to get serious about supporting this product. By far the worst support experience I have had for any product. from Newegg.com I have ordered two of these; one for myself and one for another family. The parental control is provided by Bsafe.com (the best out there). Bsafe is a server base filtering system - so when you try to go to an internet site, the SecureSpot will go to a Bsafe server and verify if your system can go to the requested site. Bsafe does key word filtering (sometimes teenagers will do a search on a word such as "sex" and then continual to click the URL's to see if they will be allowed top go to an inappropriate site). from Amazon.com Pros: NONE!!!!!!Cons: Difficult to setup, customer service was a joke. After the upgrade the client crashed every time someone logged in and the internet was locked out until the computer was rebooted. Turns out the cilent NO LONGER supports fast user switching and D-link does not know why so we are supposed to log on and off every time we access the computer. This change shows the lack of understanding and support D-link has for their own products and how this internet protection racket has gotten out of control. from Amazon.com D-Link's SecureSpot is a nice concept. However in daily household use, multiple bugs caused me to abandon this product. from Amazon.com Interent speed would tank and it was difficult to get back to the adminstation page. I spent maybe 20 hours so far getting this to work the way I want unsuccessfully, it is now disconnected waiting for the next version of software. Other Thoughts: I also have a DLINK DGL4300 router which they have now added similar features to, I am wondering why I bought SecureSpot now. from Newegg.com
