Best Rice Cookers and Steamers

I bought a rice cooker because I have never been able to make decent rice in a pot (yes, I know it's been done for centuries and is supposed to be so easy).

I've never been able to cook rice, but I recently decided to try to recreate a persian rice dish called "chelow" that I love and bought this rice cooker for $19.99 at WalMart.

My wife has had this rice cooker for more than 2 years.

I bought this rice cooker, and soon found that my girlfriend has an identical one.

i do this when i cook for me a lot so when its done i have a complete meal, fresh rice, meat and veggies.

produces very good brown rice (i have never tried the other).

Advertisement said it was a 6 cup cooker, but they sent a 3 cup cooker.

I bought this because it was small and I wanted a rice cooker that would make 3 cups and take up less storage space than the bigger ones.

I bought this compact rice cooker but have returned it.

i tend to use brown rice and it hasn't failed to deliver perfectly.

it comes with a steamer so if you would like to steam vegetables it is really easy to add the steam basket to the top and cook rice at the same time.

i mostly make brown rice.

i can steam veggies while i'm cooking rice.

i did all my cooking in that little thing - brown rice and beans, multi-grain cereals with dried fruits and nuts mixed in, steamed veggies - you name it.

the machine cooks brown rice nicely as well.

if you need quick and dirty simple rice cooker, it's fine.

also known as japanese "sticky rice" so of course it comes out stickier than americans may be use to at a restaurant), but also cooks normal long grain white rice and brown rice to perfection for us.

i've used it to cook both white and brown rice, goya boxed rice mixes, rice-a-roni (brown first), and even steel-cut oats.

i have used it for brown rice, white rice, and sushi rice.

i love this rice cooker because it's easy to use, easy to clean up and convenient if you want to make rice and steam veggies/shumai/etc on top at the same time.

After getting sick of either burning the rice or having it come out gooey, this ricer has surpassed everything I had hoped for.

Cheap yet sturdy and makes great rice.

I bought this at a local store because the size was perfect and the price was right.
