Best Dehumidifiers

the bionaire bdq25-uc 40 pint dehumidifier was not as quiet as i expected, however, it was not as nosey as the old kenmore dehumidifier it was replacing.

i love the dehumidifier it is so much quieter than my old one and i love that a hose can be connected and put into my french drain so i never have to empty it.

is it silent?

as far as noise goes, we don't really care since it is in the basement.

I purchased a Haier 45 pint dehumidifier on December 29, 2008.

I used this Haier for almost two months then took it back.

this dehumidifier is a little quieter than the unit it replaced.

i don't empty the bucket nor can i hear it as it is in the basement.

Pros: VERY powerful; easy to use; quiet, even when run continuously for days

it does make a little more noise than we expected.

it's not whisper quiet, but definitely quieter than my older unit.

i use this in my basement.

does not turn itself back on after a power outage.

cons: after a few months, it is both loud and has a faulty humidistat.

I called Royal Sovereign to tell them this.

this danby 70 pint dehumdifier was intended to remove mildew odor from the basement of my house.
