it's perfect for home or an office because it allows everyone to choose his/her own drink.
the nice thing about the dolce gusto is that it allows you to make coffee with steamed milk.
that said, all is not roses (is it ever?).
this machines also allows you to make your coffee any way you want it.
it has all the rich taste without the bitterness.
it's a classy machine that makes all kinds of different coffees.
i read all the reviews of this machine before i ordered it, to replace a mr.
tried it with three different coffee blends, and all came out as expected.
first of all, as another reviewer mentioned, i love the clean white/stainless steel look, and the small footprint.
there were only a few reviews on this one and all positive, so i took a chance.
quality of all parts appears to be high.
it's easy to clean, no mess, all you have to do is push a button and in one minute you got a great espresso or cappucinno.
the brew group is the same quality as the saeco vienna (it appears to be indentical) in fact all internal components appear to be the same with just a new enclosure.
i have been using it for 3 months now and have not had any problems at all it just takes a little bit of learning and trial and error don't forget to read the manual there are many little things that
oh, and the espresso, which is after all, the point?
didn't give it 5 stars as the plastic outer casing of the machine could hae a better fit and finish (it is after all a saeco).
been useing for 3 months now and cant complain about it at all.
no mess, no coffee grounds to worry about and the best of all, it practically takes care of itself.
i do wish that it was able to make a larger cup (only allows for 8 oz.
but forget all the many things that make it brew a great cup for one....the machine is good looking, has a small footprint, and looks and feels more expensive than it is.
i knew it was there but discounted it for all the features it did not have.
this is a great machine; makes real espresso with a nice layer of crema, froths milk well and quickly, and is easy to use, all for under $100.
it can do it because it's pump-driven like all of the expensive and commercial espresso machines.
all in all i find it a great machine, i am no barista, but i like the espresso it makes.
the only expresso makers that compare in quality of product to this one are all significantly over $200, with many of them over $300.
over all perfect for the $100 bucks it cost us.
all of them produce disappointing espresso.
*at first i thought so much plastic was a little awkward, but it has made cleaning a snap--it's so simple to just pull all of the pieces out, rinse off in the sink, and put it back together.
it's a neat machine, specifically, the grinds end up in a side compartment instead of all over the counter, just pull it out and dump it in the garbage.
i'd like it to keep warm all day and although it doesn't, it will keep warm for a couple hours.
this machine shines in all those ways, and i am surprised how liberated i feel not having to worry about having turned off the coffee maker (somehow this concern would always arise mid-commute).
the shape of the carafe is a little awkward, and it doesn't close all the way (the krups had a little button you pushed to open the front.) but its not too bad.
2.also the lid to the top of the reservoir doesn't lean back at all so it's very hard to pour the water into the hole.
also, it only needs to stay on while it's brewing--and then it turns itself off--no more leaving the coffeemaker on all day by accident (phew!).
i do attribute some of my problems to the use of a new machine, but i have not figured out how to "overcome" all problems yet.
let me just say, all espresso machines have their quirks, but after owning this sirena for over 2 months, i think i've got the hang of it.
in all, i have found the sirena to be an attractive, well constructed machine which makes an excellent shots of espresso.
i've owned several coffee and espresso machines and they have all inevitably disappointed me in one way or another, either by being flimsy, not producing quality shots, or especially by having a
very easy to use...now you can make all your favorite espresso drinks with ease...i replaced my barista machine with this new very cool looking sirena and could not be happier.
on the cube, it kind of slids out on a tilt and when you fill it all the way you have to gently put it in so as to not spill, a task that is a little difficult.
i'm pretty wired right now as i've been having espressos all day!
i called their 800 number and having my machine picked up and are shipping me a "loaner" to use until mine is repaired--all at their expense, even shipping.
all the four i have tried.
just set it all the way to the other end from espresso and you'll be fine, even if done once every few weeks i've never noticed a taste difference between every morning and every few weeks grinding.
it seems to work really good and i have no negatives, other then it, like all press pots, requires a little more effort then a drip coffee maker to clean up.
what's great about this bodum coffee press is that it's all plastic.
i keep it out all the time and use it quite often.
over all, i am quite pleased with it except for the above reasons.
all in all, i'd buy this one again.
there is not any problem at all with the seal.
4th it has an adjustable hot plate temp.setting.this allows the coffee to last longer without burning.
the carafe is easy to pour from and doesn't spill all over the counter like so many others i have used.
when visiting my friend in italy, she served us the most amazing espresso -- made in a moka bialetti (which is, she tells me, what virtually all italians use at home!) so of course i had to buy one
why the heck was i spending so much money at starbucks everyday for all those years?!
very fast brewing, no drips at all, no clogged filter, real hot coffee...and it shuts itself off.
all in all it does what it says.
i have already gotten in the habit of doing all that and emptying the catch tray when the "fill tank." message comes on.
one touch brewing for all my favorite drinks what a treat.
the machine itself is a striking testament to contemporary design - an all stainless exterior with an icy blue lcd display panel.
first of all, this machine is physically superior to all other super-automatic brands i checked out.
then it stopped recognizing that the pitcher was installed at all, thereby making a latte impossible.
this machine can do it all, from a strong shot of espresso to a flawless cappuccino, all in under minute.
oily beans should also be "air dried" for 4-5 hours before adding to the hopper to allow the excess oils to dry.

this full-function unit is the most quiet i have tried, and it is the first one that fits in an all-white color scheme.
we have an expensive full-size espresso maker and he tends not to use it because of all the work/mess involved.
it also imho brews a way more drinkable shot than starbucks ever did - they really need to clean their machines and train their alleged "baristas".
all you need is hot water and ese coffee pods (i use 150 lavazza gran crema espresso pods).
first of all as mentioned in many of the reviews here, the thing is built like a tank.
it does not work at all.
we've used all the filter sizes with ground espresso and pods.
all in all this is machine makes a great espresso that can compete with any of the higher priced models out there.
#2 easy to use, filters allow for a single or double shot to be made - also comes with a pod filter but i've never used it
cons: froth-enhancer, pre-heat "rinse" required, steam wand could be higher to allow for larger cups (americanos).
nice shot, nice crema, but the filter basket leaked despite all troubleshooting efforts.
needless to say, i have purchased many machines over the years, and they have all fallen short.
no mess at all.
this doesn't sound terrible, but the espresso is sitting out all this time, and i'm getting late for work.
