it's just the right size for coffee when you only want one of cup coffee.
it is a little noisy towards the end of the brew, but definitely much quieter than the full size keurig machine i have at home.
but forget all the many things that make it brew a great cup for one....the machine is good looking, has a small footprint, and looks and feels more expensive than it is.
this item is the best for it's size.
i am starting with the smallest unit they had available and am using it in my office but will also move up and get another unit for my home after i retire.
we have an expensive full-size espresso maker and he tends not to use it because of all the work/mess involved.
this small device makes some of the best espresso in the world!
being a headmaster at a local private school he misses espresso in the morning and doesn't want to spend hundreds if not thousands on a small machine for his office.
it is everything i was hoping it would be given its size and the simplicity of its mechanism.
my only complaints are that it only make a really small cup at a time and that i am unable to find the e.s.e.
besides the reviews themselves, i selected this product because it takes up minimal counter space and it is inexpensive.
it is small, efficient, easy to use, and makes perfect espresso.
i have had a couple of other makes of espresso makers in the past.....they made espresso very slow and in very small quantities...so it was always a real project to make the morning espresso.
it is a good size, makes really good espresso shots.
it makes very good espresso, and it's better looking, smaller and significantly quieter than our gaggia.
there are a few design modifications i'd make to it to help maximize my counter space, but i do enjoy having it.
no matter, it takes up very little counter space and is easy to move out of the way or to stow when not in use.
also it's the perfect size amount cup instead of the overgrown sizes at most coffee places now, and it's great tasting no matter what flavor drink you get.
it is so easy to use and doesn't take up a lot of counter space in my small kitchen.
it's relatively small size keeps it from taking up too much counter space, and the colors and design look terrific in my kitchen.
- machine is a counter space hog, it takes up more room than my 12 cup coffee pot.
surprisingly, this was also smaller than the keurig although it looked pretty large online.
today i received my krups xp7225 compact fully automatic espresso machine after doing hours and hours of research.
we like the small footprint and it looks great on the counter, and very easy to set up and use.
as j.zinn said it's "turnkey." it's compact and great looking.
this is a heavy, metal, sturdy device and very compact!
i took a chance and chose the xp7225 because of its small size, and because it was moderately priced for a fully automatic espresso machine.
the only thing is,i wish the water container was double size.
cleaning is relatively simple and it fits a small footprint.
the less 1/4 star is more for me being unable to find certain information that i thought would have made my decision quicker and small things like i wish it was the reverse color.
also as has been pointed out, both the bean and the water hopper in particular are a bit on the small side, but for one or two users i'd call it a non-issue.
i very nearly bought that unit for myself when i found it on liquidation for $5k, but decided that the sheer size of that unit would not be feasible in a household (about 3'x2'x2').
it's just too risky to use coffee grounds in such a small machine.
it is small, so it doesn't take up much counter space.
it's cute and compact and takes a very few minutes to brew a nice cup of coffee.
i bought this coffee maker because i was tired of wasting coffee in a regular-size machine when making a single cup for just myself.
you can use any size mug except for very tall ones like you buy at starbucks.
and as some have mentioned, the top hole is small making it a little more work to clean.
-- the size is right for my limited counter space.
compact size fits nicely on counter.
compact size is nice.
first of all, as another reviewer mentioned, i love the clean white/stainless steel look, and the small footprint.
i was a bit skeptical that this small little super automatic could really replace our larger manual and brew quality espresso.
this machine takes away my longing for the french cafe, right down to the "americana" size i so desire.
i love that the ena doesn't take up any counter space.
works very similarly to the j5 but with a smaller footprint.
small(9" width), take up less less counter space than any other super automatic machines on the market.
so while my kenya press is slightly smaller than my previous bodums, i'm loving the plastic frame the glass carafe sits in, primarily because it's protected.
i would have liked a larger size but am leary of the assam model because i like the plastic frame and it looks like it might buffer a few bumps that might break unprotected glass.
it's a good size for one cup or 3 good size cups.
my tea goes much farther because it's not trapped in a small space.
some other considerations would be the size.
it gets 4 out of 5 stars because the water tank is a little small for those marathon coffee drinkers.
1.small water capacity(i refill more than once a day.)
i wouldn't worry much about complaints concerning the machines controls which allow you to set grind size, amount of coffee used and amount of water dispensed.
one comment: i've noticed that there's a small amount of water loss from the internal mechanisms that comes out in the drip tray.
the only thing that takes some time is to get the grind size and amount of coffee correct for the type of bean you have.
the bosch also has a smaller footprint than the keurig machine.
i wish, however, that the normal cup sized t-disc would make a larger amount.
my only complaint might be that some of the brands brew smallish cups of coffee (4-6 oz.) which has turned me into quite the addict.
-i have no problem with the size of the machine (i thought it was small).
it isn't perfect, but the small drawbacks don't bother me.
it's both small and poorly set.
the small black on grey time readout is ridiculously hard to read because it is recessed and lacks a backlight on the lcd.
to raise the water container on top of the machine and to steady the container sufficiently to pour the water accurately into a relatively small water container when the unit is on the counter.
we got rid of our big coffee to purchase this smaller one, and it wasn't a disappointment.
i'll take off one star for a few minor problems: the instruction booklet is pretty pathetic and doesn't even say what size filter to use (and it doesn't even come with a starter set of filters).
i have had it for 2 months and it works great i like it better than our full size brew station it is a nice unit
i was disappointed to see that the filter size was not stipulated on the box, since i wanted to buy some filters with the machine, but target had some 4-6 cup filters and i tried one in their display
i am in college and had three basic criteria for a coffee maker: small, cheap, and no hot plate (they aren't allowed in my dorm).
it was generally okay, but even on the smallest setting (smallest cup) and even with an internet purchase of the bold k-cups (supposedly 25% more coffee), i just couldn't make a decent sized cup of
i have a jura at home and love it beyond belief but i wanted something small in my office because i hate the coffee in the general kitchen at work.
not the lungo ones (too tall), not some small wooden ones that i love (too wide), not some others i tried.
this small machine makes very decent coffee with a minimum of fuss.
however, the machine has begun constant dripping after use and i have to place a small cup to catch the dripping.
replace portafilter and choose your shot size (the time it took to add your espresso grounds is exactly enough to rewarm the machine)
so, if you like larger or smaller shots...you can program it to your liking.
to keep the review short, ill say that it looks great, its a perfect size, it functions completely as advertised, the steam wand is awesome for steaming or just getting a hot water for an americana.
but i think it's one small price to pay for such a great machine.
i've had a lot of espresso machines over the last 20 years, both at home for personal use and also in a small office, and this is definitely one of the better quality machines i've had.
i've had several different small single cup coffee makers and this one by far is the coolest and best.
the reason i have written this review is because if i had not of had a smaller press like this one then i would have never bought this after reading what some people have written about this press.
everything in such a small machine!?i love ...
pros: compact, easy to use, well designed, great coffee, speed of use, ease of cleanup, etc
there are a couple small things that could be improved.
however, you must use proper sized cappuccino cups to get the full experience.
