and while it doesn't develop as much crema as my home machine (and i wouldn't expect it to considering that machine is over $1,500) - this thing is a great way for me to get my espresso fix at work.
you're not going to get a la marzocco shot out of it, but its certainly better than any home semi-auto espresso machine under 500 or 600 bucks in my opinion.
we've taken it camping, but have found it even better than his dad's fancy countertop machine, so we make espresso at home with our espresso.
after returning to america i purchased one on amazon and used it over thanksgiving to make espresso for my brother in law and sister in law for desert at the family get together.
it is obviously no replacement for a real espresso machine loaded with freshly ground espresso, but when you are far from home and from a decent barista, this little machine really delivers a decent
i almost stopped by starbucks on the way home tonight, but then thought twice -- why would i need to do that when i have better espresso, made just the way i want it, waiting for me at home?
it's simple to use thanks to the individual coffee packets(no packing or cleaning of coffee grinds) is easy to clean and makes a great espresso!
i have a jura at home and love it beyond belief but i wanted something small in my office because i hate the coffee in the general kitchen at work.
honestly, if i hadn't been exposed to this at a relatives house, i know that i would not have purchased it.
the nespresso frother is good but makes only enough for 1 person and it is not worth it for a couple or family.
my friend has the larger version but we didn't need another big coffee maker but this little gem is perfect for that cup of coffee you want to have during the day without making a full pot or heating
the variety of k-cups seams to be larger than any other device on the market (tassimo, flavia, senseo, etc.) and in my opinion it makes better coffee than any of the other single cup systems i have
so for multiple cups, you have to turn it on, then after loading the k-cup and water, press brew.
i do wish that it was able to make a larger cup (only allows for 8 oz.
i liked the compact size (of course this doesn't have a lot of the bells and whistles that larger machines have but it does the job and it doesn't really need them).
i bought this product after seeing and using it at a friend's house...
it does make a terrific cappuccino and chocochino but the machine has some flaws that make me question it's long term future in my kitchen.
it is so easy to use and doesn't take up a lot of counter space in my small kitchen.
it's relatively small size keeps it from taking up too much counter space, and the colors and design look terrific in my kitchen.
it is so easy to use that our daughter even uses to make hot chocolate when she gets home from school.
this machine can do it all, from a strong shot of espresso to a flawless cappuccino, all in under minute.
* i've used the frothxpress attachment for making cappuccinos and lattes a handful of times and it works well, much better than i expected, and is easy to clean.
it's difficult to continue enthusiastically describing features of this machine without sounding like a shill for the manufacturer...but a few more things are worthy of mention:
i looked in to this machine after using an older capresso model at a friend's house.
for example, a fine setting using dark oily beans induces very slow brew times.
i would have liked a larger size but am leary of the assam model because i like the plastic frame and it looks like it might buffer a few bumps that might break unprotected glass.
first it is dishwasher safe compared to most plastics or cheaper glass.
it works great, prepares great tasting coffee and is not real difficult to clean up.
i wash it both by hand and in the dishwasher and have had no problems.
it produces a fabulous pot of coffee and the tiny bit of extra effort w/ grinding my own beans, heating the water, & hand-washing is definitely well worth it.
if you like espresso or good quality cappuccino, you will love it, too.
we haven't used the cappuccino option yet, but the espresso is very easy.
it works beautifully, makes wonderful frothy milk and is a breeze to clean.
this espresso machine is easy to use, low maintenance, and an outstanding value for the price.
i am now able to have a good cup of cappuccino almost every night after dinner.
i like that i can alter the amount of milk added to each kind of coffee and of course, it's awesome that latte, cappuccino, macchiato and espresso are available at the touch of a button.
we bought the gran dama because it is so automatic that making great latte and cappuccino is now a breeze for her and i love the real espresso taste.
purchased the delonghi gran dama for our home coffee bar and it has been an outstanding addition.
the engineering is very solid and it has a gorgeous presence in the kitchen.
like any espresso machine this requires some maintenance.
we have made espresso, cappuccino, lattes and hot chocolate.
i was a bit skeptical that this small little super automatic could really replace our larger manual and brew quality espresso.
the machine is almost self cleaning.
easy to clean and maintain
i think this machine is designed to make coffees in pairs, i only made two coffees at a time once, and they looked better, it's probably a bad idea to make a home machine so that it can make two
it makes the perfect coffee, the perfect cappuccino and the perfect latte...
i love the ease of preparing espresso, cappuccino and lattes without the mess and cleanup of grinding beans and frothing milk.
we've had friends with typical home version espresso machines that just sit there until there is a special occasion because it's just too much trouble - this machine has easily become an everyday
it makes lattes, cappuccinos, espressos, and lungos with one push of a button.
since we are fans of cappuccinos, lattes and macchiato's this machine seemed to answer our needs.
if you are extremely picky about the flavor of espresso i'm not sure this low-end machine is for you, but for someone who just needs a quick cappuccino in the morning, it's perfect.
this means that once your espresso is made and you're ready to clean out the coffee grounds you have to be really really careful or it'll explode the hot coffee grinds all over you and your kitchen.
i have not yet mastered the milk frothing wand, but i'm sure that after watching the included dvd it will be a no-brainer.
#2 the distance between the portafilter (where the coffee comes out) and the drip tray is not very tall - i've found that i have to use a smaller cup to brew and then dump it into a larger cup if i'm
i'll probably switch to a larger pitcher than the one that comes with the cuisinart, though it's fine to start out.
this is a great coffee maker, its everything i wanted and more, it did take me a few times to get the cappuccino's just right but now that i got the hang of it, i can get them perfect almost every
it's paid for itself in one month of my husband brewing his own instead of going to the name brand coffee house down the street.
i have yet to use it to make coffee or cappuccino but am sure it will perform perfectly.
it's very easy to use for both regular coffee and lattes, and easy to clean.
it seems to sit a little too low, but it still works fine and offers easy cleanup with the removable end piece.
the west bend single cup coffee maker is a good product for the price.
this single-cup coffee maker is great because of the large base and the space between the drip portion and the top of the cup.
the coffee maker brews a single cup so fast, the waiting for another cup was nothing.
very fast brewing, no drips at all, no clogged filter, real hot coffee...and it shuts itself off.
i bought this coffee maker because i was tired of wasting coffee in a regular-size machine when making a single cup for just myself.
you do need to beware of dripping from the bottom of the portafilter onto the machine base and on the counter when taking it out to clean.
i finally bit the bullet and purchased one for our home.
the priming of the pump was a bit frustrating but quickly figured it out and was off and running with great coffee drinks from my own kitchen.
i've had a lot of espresso machines over the last 20 years, both at home for personal use and also in a small office, and this is definitely one of the better quality machines i've had.
my wife used to live at starbucks, now she has it at home.
cleanup is simple because there is no exposed coffee grounds.
cleanup is a breeze because i do not have to fool with coffee grinds or the soggy coffee pods.
After living in Paris for 7 years, I have been searching for over 20 years for a machine that can duplicate the espresso served in bars in Italy & France.
I am interested of getting one after seeing the rave reviews it received.
I used to have an X5 and I hated it because the espresso was always lukewarm at best and the pods would frequently explode so I had reservations about purchasing another FrancisFrancis!
however, it is very fast, so don't worry about speed.
i also like it that the machine is so simple to clean.
i wish, however, that the normal cup sized t-disc would make a larger amount.
An Appliance that's Lots of Fun
Bosch TAS4511UC Tassimo Single-Serve Coffee Brewer, Silk Silver
it is sitting on a side table in my tiny kitchen, not on the countertop or underneath cabinets.
we purchased this thermal cuisnart coffee maker for our second home, after having one for approximately 3 yrs at our primary residence.
it cleans easy, fits nicely under the kitchen cabinets, and the programmable feature is simple and works great.
as long as it's hot and ready when i stumble to the kitchen, it's all good to me!
an lcd done right does come in handy, saying when it's done or that it's set for auto or how old the coffee is, as well as being a backup clock in the kitchen.
it's easy to clean, and makes great coffee.
cleaning it has been a breeze, and it seems to do a much better job of filtering the fine grounds than other french presses i've used.
I had high hopes for this press.
Looks great, top doesn't fit well, spout leaks all over the place no matter what
My sister requested this for Christmas.
-- it is easy to use and to clean.
and as some have mentioned, the top hole is small making it a little more work to clean.
we pop all the parts into the dishwasher.
* clean button and indicator light: according to the manual, the clean indicator will light up if the unit needs cleaning (i def.
fast brewing time.
I do agree that the directions could be more helpful in the "how-to" department for novice espresso makers like me.
I received the machine really fast, was very excited and had it up and running in no time.
I searched all over looking for a dependable expresso/capuccino machine.
It makes great espresso the first time.
The first machine we received was faulty.
