We liked this Lakewood fan so much, we came back and bought a second one. It truly does cool down an entire room or large area with its air output. from Sears.com THIS LAKEWOOD KOOL FAN IS A PLUS FOR ANY HOME OR OFFICE. IT READILY COOLS MY OVERSIZED LIVINGROOM AND HALLWAY. from Sears.com I was looking for a quiet fan to help move air around my oddly shaped apartment - even with two window A/C units, the air circulation in the summer is very poor. I bought a cheap $15 box fan and it sounds like a jet engine! On the lowest setting, I can hear it, upstairs, over the noise from the A/C - and, over the quiet hum of my Kool Operator fan sitting just a few feet away. from Amazon.com I liked the price and I think I'm good with the pivoting capability of the direction. I have it set up for keeping my bedroom cool at night here in Arizona, and it seems quiet enough for a decent fan. The reason I give only three stars is that when I first got it, out of the box, I had some difficulty getting the unit set up.
