We purchased our fans from Sam's about 6 years ago. Our bedroom did not get a good share of the Heat and Air from our Unit, so we purchased this fan due to not having much room for it to sit and liked the Demo unit at Sam's. We purchased this fan and it ran 24/7 for about 6 years, it finally quit after we had power surge. from Amazon.com I don't have A/C in my bedroom . But this one really gives us the A/c effect with wide oscillation and 4 feet height. I bought this from Sam's club in MAY 2008. from Amazon.com This fan was nice when I first brought it home but after 6 months It started to make noise so I tried to put some lube on the bearings that is for Motors, Well it was fine for about 2 hours started all over again. I wrote to Lasko to see if I could get some advice Never responded ( Good Customer service ) Then I thought I have nothing to lose so I took it apart and blew everything out lubed all rotating parts and 5 minutes later it started all over again. You can set it to speed 1-3 and the noise is as loud at any speed so I leave it on 3, I am waiting for it to just stop but it keeps running driving me nuts. from Amazon.com Customer service says they do not have service for these because they come from overseas already assembled. Of course the replacement warranty is good for a year, only if you still have the receipt. I will never purchase a Lasko again. Yesterday however, I noticed that the "oscellation" feature stopped working. from Amazon.com I bought 3 of these. Two of the three started ratting like crazy after about 2 months. Like some of the other raters on the Lasko floor fans,I took them apart to try to tighten them up, but to no avail. I liked these because they wouldn't take up a lot of our dance space and would have air blowing over most of a persons body since they are 4' tall.
