I did NOT notice the drop-off in subwoofer loudness relative to the DVD that some other reviewers noted when comparing Blu-Ray to DVD.

I won't go into the issue around proper adjustment of the subwoofer level, which I left at the default setting after getting all the other speakers adjusted.

However, when comparing the core DTS audio decoded by my receiver to the 'lossless' Master DTS audio decoded by the player I found that the internal decoding did not fully utilize my subwoofer.

The player *does*, unfortunately, suffer from the -10dB subwoofer output limitation, which is very irritating (and the cause of only 4 stars).
