With the Pioneer BDP-320, Pioneer has finally begun offering a fully functioned Blu-ray Disc player with Profile 2.0 support (BD-Live), and unlike many competitive models, the BDP-320 has enough on-board storage (1 GB) so that BD-Live works right out of the box with no need for a USB drive or SD memory card. The BDP-320 also offers excellent video and audio performance, including both Blu-ray playback and DVD upconversion. from Amazon.com I debated the need to buy a blu ray player due to the ability to download movie content from the Internet via services like Netflix. Although the new JVC was very quiet too. Last years Pioneer models had gigantic noisy fans and thankfully this years models are nice and small. I see no compelling reason to upgrade when I can get sound of this quality from the Arcam and Gallo speakers. Pioneer has a solid reputation for reliability, and good support with softward updates. I paid $750 25 years ago for a state of the art VCR; this blows it completely out of the water for about half the cost. from Amazon.com This is an excellent Player, I have a PS3 and I did have the sony BDP-350 but the sound quality was terrible. The Pioneer BDP-320 is an excellent player picture quality is incredible and the sound is out of this world.
