I purchased this player because of the great reviews and the fact that Consumer Reports rated it well. It was to replace a more expensive Sony DVD/VCR RDR-VXD655 that started freezing up after only 4 months. I use the player solely for my exercise videos, which I use daily. from Amazon.com Let me start by saying I am not the world's greatest videophile, but seriously, what more could you ask for in a DVD player? I have yet to run in to a file or disc that will not play on this unit. from Amazon.com Why this is selling for $269 is beyond me, you can get a blu ray player for that. I bought this unit last June and it is now at the nearest Pioneer service center, "no disc" error after trying several good discs.
