It worked for awhile if I unplugged it and started over and then it just stopped working all together. AFTER JUST ONE MONTH! I called Memorex who refused to replace it, but required instead that I mail it to them to be repaired which would take about two months. I was pretty frustrated but after seeing these reviews and learning that this is what happens to everyone, I am quite furious. from Amazon.com Like the first two reviewers, I bought this (the 2050 version) a short time ago and enjoyed close to 10 movies before it started freezing (either with a matrix-esque green screen of gibberish, or no signal from the hdmi out). After unplugging the unit and plugging it back in, it worked for a little bit. from Amazon.com I bought this at Target, not Amazon, so I can't be sure it's the same player, but the MVD2050 from Memorex (with HDMI output and a card reader) is emphatically not worth the $50 I payed. First off: it doesn't resume where you stopped after turning off the DVD player, a standard option on most players. from Amazon.com Bought the 2050 model from Target. After less than 6 months and viewing maybe 10 movies, the unit starting freezing up during the playing of a movie. from Amazon.com I give it 1 star because so far, it plays DVDs. However, the remote that comes with it has issues: it uses a CR2025 coin battery; the remote is very small; has a non-standard button layout; tiny lettering on the surface; and it is useless in dim lighting (non-illuminated). The worst part about it is that Memorex does not support the universal remote code protocol, so you can't put this DVD player on your all-in-one remote. (I contacted their customer support via email to confirm this fact). from Amazon.com After this, the only way to access any features or to eject the disk is to unplug the player and plug it back in. It works for about 5 or 10 minutes and the same problem comes back. I never turned in the warranty card, so now I have to buy another DVD player,definitely not Memorex this time from Amazon.com Pros: lightweight, black matches TV cabinet, actually looks like a real DVD player from Shopping.com Pros: NONE Cons: Everything about it. from Shopping.com Pros: Affordable, good picture Cons: Runs loudly, freezes up occasionally, restarts movie every time it's stopped from Shopping.com also, the picture quality has gotten progressively worse over time on the hdmi output. from Amazon.com
