It no longer works. It isn't dirty, not kept in the open dusty area, and it has never been mistreated. I did not buy extended warranty because I thought it's a LG........ from Bestbuy.com this DVD also plays the ones that are made on computers! Get this DVD player while it last and before they finally force everyone to go to blue ray. I own this DVD player and the LG name is of great quality, I own allot of older LG products and they have lasted allot longer then other brands. When the picture is not a digital haze, it's fine - nothing different than the Oppo. The Oppo "upscales" to 1080i and the LG supposedly to 1080p - can't tell the difference (I used 1/4 of the film Ghost Rider to measure).
