I have been enjoying the video side so much I really haven't utilized it in a AUDIO or PICTURE format way as yet, but I am very satisfied with my purchase even at the hefty 500+ shipping cost. I have No regrets for being able to turn my player ON, put in a DISK and have the confidence that it will load quickly with out me having to reset the player or the fear of Disk rejecting because of software updates. I understand that they are inevitable, but I also like OPPO's USB loading drive for updates, or Ethernet loading capabilities over the copy-to-the-disk dance, that SAMSUNG has. As far as the NETFLIX, WI-FI connections.. from Amazon.com Plus you get SACD, and darn good SACD conversion at that. The video output is superb, it's a beautiful machine, very well packaged. I'm not an expert, just a user with some experience, and OPPO is building really good equipment. from Amazon.com While this Oppo model is excellent with Audio CDs, if you have lots of Standard Def DVD's, you may not be happy with the picture the Oppo makes--it tends to retain images, and dark areas look blotchy and muddy. This is the 2nd Oppo player (the other was the 981) that had this issue, but no other brand I've used in my system--Panasonic, Pioneer, Sony etc--has this annoying problem, only Oppo. from Amazon.com I really can't add much to the raves except to corroborate that you can buy this great product with confidence. Thanks to the Spears & Munsil calibration disc that came with the Oppo I was able to precisely adjust the contrast then the rest of the settings on my Samsung PN50B550. It's really no big deal, though, because we have the computer hooked up to the HDTV via DVI -> HDMI. The Oppo player, on the other hand, is well-built and a much better fit for our needs. We have a large DVD collection that has been given new life by the upscaling, we're enjoying watching Blu-ray movies from NetFlix at their best, the HDCDs I've had in my collection are finally being played back at full resolution, and I can play my collection of DVD-Audio and SACD discs. from Amazon.com I have owned this player since March. I was 1 of the 1st 50 that was chosen as a part of Oppo's Early Adoption Program. I had the player for about a month and was ask to vote on whether or not to expand the Early Adoption Program. from Amazon.com The remote is also quite good. It comes with a free calibration Blu-ray disc. The packaging is fantastic, it's very well cushioned and comes with a free reusable grocery shopping bag with the Oppo logo.
