I am such a fan of the Dungeon Explorer that came out for the TurboGrafx-16 many years ago because the elements in that games was reminiscent of classic Guantlet except that it had more interesting characters such as witch, warriors, wizards, etc. The DS version is a revamp and not such a better one either. from Amazon.com Over the years that I have played video games I have noticed that if one reads reviews of hack'n'slash rpgs in professional gaming websites and magazines, one will find mediocre scores. The reason for this is because of the reviewers will claim repetition of hacking up enemies, level grinding, gathering items, and lack of an epic story as keeping the games from being enjoyable. Also, they like to claim that many of these titles are Diablo "clones" (which is true for some). from Amazon.com I've been looking for a good dungeon crawler for the DS for a while and while not a huge fan of the anime style ones common to the DS this one seemed a bit different. Like so many DS games that look amazing while in production end up failing by the time they ship.
