this dishwasher does take at least an hour to complete a normal washing cycle but it is very quiet.
it takes longer for a wash cycle than i was expecting, about an hour and 45 minutes, but it's still alot better than standing at the sink and hand washing everything.i would definately recomend this
even with the long cycle and the narrow size (as that is all that will fit in my kitchen) i'm am in love with "b." i would and have definitely recommended this dishwasher.
at first i didnt understand why it should take 3 hours for the quick cycle.
i have run several loads through my danby ddw1805w now and i am pleased though it does have a long cycle time.i am amazed at how little water it uses.

although the washer has a heating element for the wash cycle, it rinses using whatever water is coming through the faucet.
you'll just plumb the water supply into the connection under the sink, so you don't have to connect it to the end of the faucet, which renders the faucet unusable for the duration of the wash cycle.
if you aren't able to, then easily, have a bucket near by and place the drain hose in the bucket (while sitting the bucket on the floor) at the end of the wash cycle and the rest of the water will

i have found that recently i use it 2x a day on the short cycle and it works just as well as the longer cycle.

the dinner plates do fit just fine...you have to "angle" them like parking places so the bottoms hang into the cavities.i usually use the "short wash" setting and have had no problems.
using the long cycle, it easily removes dried-on food with minimal water and energy usage.
the two features i especially like are the pre-wash cycle that will allow me to accumulate dishes toward a full load, and the sani-mode that provides the level of cleaning i prefer.
only thing i have noticed so far, the first couple of times we used it, when we set the dial, the machine ran for about 1 hour in the wash cycle.
my only complaint is that the machine becomes stuck in a washing cycle if you initially start it incorrectly.

does everything it says , hard dried on food cleans up with no presoaking.3 different wash cycles,sanitize,heat dry..all works great!

if you find yourself in the habit of always rinsing the dishes before putting into the dishwasher, you can use the short wash cycle which cleans just as well as the full wash but at a much shorter

before purchasing just be warned that the regular cycle takes 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete, and the quick wash takes 1 hour and 20 minutes.
after the extremely long normal wash cycle (2 hrs 18 mins), some of my dishes are not clean.
