a "dish rack" when i'm not ready to do a load of dishes.it cleans plates, tupperware and glasses very well, on the "full" cycle, and does silverware and even wooden spoons well if you pre-rinse them.

i don't recommend using jet-dry in the unit, it seemed to overcoat my glasses.
