Review: Worked well for 13 months and then it stopped mid cycle and the display went completely blank.? It appears that something in the electronics died.? I choose the whirlpool Gold based on its appeareance and the salesman's recommendation. It was a replacement of a 20+ yr. Whirlpool that still ran (with issues), but this is probably higher end. We got this particular model because of others' reviews, the nylon (non-metal) racks, the better top-rack-lift-adjustment, and it was still available in the bisque color. from Ajmadison.com They go in looking pretty good and come out unpresentable. Now we think twice before we invite anyone to dinner! We meticulously went through all of the troubleshooting recommended in the manual and by Whirlpool customer service - check water temperature, pressure, detergent, etc. etc. from Amazon.com it's very quiet, offers a number of different settings, cleans well, and dries just fine for me (since i never empty the dishwasher the second it's done). from Abt.com just did a remodel of the kitchen and replaced the aging dishwasher with the improved, new model....bigger and it is very quiet! from Ajmadison.com it does a wonderful job cleaning. from Abt.com the silverware basket is way too small, all the spoons get nested and the water cannot get to the tiny baby spoons or bottle parts. from Sears.com
