I really wanted that one feature in my next pocket-sized camera: WATERPROOF. But I was very concerned after reading many negative tests & reviews about waterproof cameras in general. from Amazon.com I've been using a Nikon Coolpix 4300, but was missing too many pictures opportunities because of the time it takes to remove it from the water-tight bag I carried it in. I also couldn't use it when there was a lot of spray in the air. The Panasonic DMC-TS1 has solved those problems. With its non-protruding lens it is even smaller than my old Coolpix and slips easily into a pocket on my PFD. from Amazon.com When I look at the high definition videos, I am still in awe of what this camera is capable of. The video is extremely smooth. Complying with all of the precautions noted in the user's manual, water somehow seeped in where the battery was store, and the camera promptly stopped working. Panasonic is now replacing the camera.
