Most of the cameras that has similar features were [$] more than this camera. We wanted a dependable camera. We have had a digital Olympus for years and have loved it. from Photoalley.com --It doesn't upload all of the photos into iPhoto (skips quite a bit of them), nor does it indicate which of the uploaded items are movies. I haven't figured out why but, because of this, you have to be careful and make sure all of the photos have been captures before deleting them from the camera. It could be that Olympus is just not as Mac-friendly as my Canons have been. The pros: from Amazon.com Pros: Shutter speed is fast; camera has a sleek design; very lightweight even with the battery; many optional shooting modes; image stabilization (really important for avoiding shaky pictures); buttons light up making it easy to operate in any lighting situation; pictures are very clear Cons: Sliding cover on the front of the camera fingerprints easily and occasionally the lens gets fingerprints on it when the camera is being turned on or off; the LED buttons can be challenging to operate if you have pudgy fingers; pictures in low lighting aren't as great as they could be, but they're still decent (I haven't played around with the various ISO settings, yet) Other Thoughts: I'm concerned that the sliding panel on the front (which controls when the camera is on/off) isn't such a great idea for a camera that's usually in my pocket. Thus far, it hasn't accidentally opened or damaged, but I can see this being a potential problem in the future. Overall, this camera was a great buy, especially when they offered a $50 rebate, and it's another solid piece of technology put out by Olympus. I also have an Olympus SW790 and I've purchased other Olympus point and shoots for my friends and family members and there have never been any problems with these cameras. from Newegg.com This is a great camera, light and small with excellent resolution. a good value for money, I've never used an olympus camera before.. from Amazon.com Pros: Cheap, very small, comes with 1GB memory card, stylish. Cons: None so far.
