i tested this camera on shots of rather dark interior rooms with and without flash and no flash photos almost better with available light & camera's compensation.

the only camera in stock anywhere with comparable overall quality (i spent 2 days reading camera reviews before purchasing) is the sx100, which sells for at least $70 more and has no viewfinder.
