This camera takes professional quality photos. I own a Minolta 5D also and the quality of this Samsung rivals the Minolta. This creates problem for many digital cameras. However, unlike many other digital cameras that use AA batteries, this camera has a setting in the menu that allows it to differentiate between alkaline and NiMH batteries, adjusting camera's internal voltage requirment.
