I've accomplished taking beautiful night time cityscape photos WITHOUT using a tripod(thank you super-steady shot*) something that I was unable to do with my Canon powershot A620 unless I used a tripod and its advanced features. And the sony photo still outshines the canon. I would NOT purchase this camera again because I have 2 of them and the button has popped out of both of them. After a few months it will loose its auto focus feature. It really is a wide design problem which sony has not accepted yet.
