into one small package (it fits in a large pocket - very easy to tote around but not very impressive to an actor on the set!) the low light performance is something that some have complained about.
they're good for 1 hour 18 minutes at the highest resolution and that pretty well matches the included battery capability.
low light capability is decent (but improved a lot by using the video light for video recording or internal flash for taking photos).
this is more of a usability comparison with my optura 300 and powershot, but consider the following comments when considering other cameras, or using a camera with this capability:
canon have led the way with image quality (in video) for the last two years and it really shows here.at the end of the day it comes down to what you like, what you feel comfortable with and what you
the camera fit comfortably in the palm of your hand and made using it a joy.
it is very light and difficult to hold steady especially when using the telephoto lens.
great color and easy functionality.
the ability to pause a video in playback mode and push the camera button on top to take a snap shot is fantastic for getting a more natural looking picture.
lots of features are available, the menu and buttons are very easy to understand and use.

this isn't a review of the features and performance of the camera.
not super comfortable, but doable.
i did not notice any better low light performance in those modes either.
shooting from the shoulder provides stability & is sufficiently comfortable for long durations.
i also own a sr-11 handycam that over time can get heavy and hard to hold up.
i've never seen one with stellar low-light performance.
it wouldn't be fair to compare it to a $10,000 or $20,000 camera, which i think some people were trying to do, especially with the poor reviews for low light conditions, plastic construction, and

it would be distracting to the audience when recording your child's band performance, etc.
with dual slot sd card capability, you can store several hours of footage before having to upload.
it's cheap (lower pricing for black), small, felt comfortable, has great outdoor pictures, has a genius strap design and took 2 sdhc cards.
my wife also likes the simple use and not having to remember lots of features she will never use.
it is not easy to hold the camera still and videos can look a little shaky but that's not unusual for such a small camera.
i wanted the zi6 because of the sdhc capability.
the kodak zi6 is easy to hold and carry.
good low light performance
ok, i know this is an inexpensive "camcorder" with "hd" capability.
very easy to hold and operate, but since it does not have an image stabilizer, you have to keep your handy as steady as possible.
enter the new flip ultrahd camcorder which has a 120 minute capability.
editing- on the camera itself, i kind of wish i could pause, and then take it again, but it's not that big of a problem.
it comes with a battery pack that charges via usb but has the capability of using aa batteries if needed.
low light capability is so amazing and outstanding.
from the reviews i found all three were top contenders, the panasonic made me nervous using the three smaller chips (i am concerned about low light performance) but the purchase decision for me came
after using both i came to the same conclusion.i felt though that the sony was easier and more intuitive to use, more comfortable in my hand and the controls better placed.
i use the cameras for budget films.after spending a decent time comparing both, other than slightly edging out the hfs10 in low light color performance (the sony had better low light color, the canon

the swivel grip does help with the handling, but it is nowhere as comfortable to hold as a sanyo xacti, for instance.
the camcorder is very pleasant to the touch, easy-to-hold, simple to use.
