i've been using this camera for mostly short outdoor videos and skateboarding so far, can't wait to try it out on the snow.
it has great picture quality and sound quality, especially for such a relatively inexpensive camera.
i recommend this camcorder above all the other triple ccd's for value and ease of use.
i'm in heaven and am seriously considering picking up a 2nd gl2...i give it a 5 all the way around since even though it is not cheap, its picture rivals cameras costing 10x its price and that to me
it is a great value!
and the outdoor shots are really good."
i took some test recording on a sunny day.
and the outdoor shots are really good.
best of all we are so happy with the price.
looking for the "right" camera for my budget.
summary: i had demo different hd camcorders and this hd camcorder is a great value when compared to it's competitors.
this camcorder is great and it fit my budget.
the camcorder looks like it is just another $400 cheapie.
this camcorder has the best resolution in sun light conditions.
the canon hv10 had initially caught my attention due to a great price (under $500 refurb) on that model but after doing some research, i found too many things i did not like about it so continued
the bottom line: the only affordable optically stabilized dv with the form factor i prefer for uw housings
its 3ccds give it the best color representation of the three by far, however it needs a considerable amount of light to make a difference - better suited to budget-minded professionals who ensure
this cameras amazing one of the best canon has to offer (for the price anyways) this camera has great zoom features not to mention it takes great pictures which is half the reason i bought it.
3-chip camcorders are big, heavy, and expensive.
but, under normal shooting conditions (outdoors, normally lit room, etc.) you really can't beat it.
its tiny size combined with its awesome 1080i video and very capable photo abilities make it a very good value.
summary: canon hv10 is the cheapest, smallest hdv camcorder to date.
i bought 6 of those tapes for $19, so it is very inexpensive to buy the media for thiscamera.
my home videos no longer sicken the viewers :) the picture is excellent in daylight.
summary: i'm not really a canon fan, but every time i ponder a video/still camera purchase, i always compare sony models and have not been disappointed with canon products so far.
pros: many neat features, good value for its price, and portable.
the video quality is excellent and it is very easy to copy your still shots and videos using usb 2.0 or firewire to your windows xp pc.
overall, excellent value in a market where each new model year of camcorders seems to be reducing feature and functionality.
Great value for your money, lot of great and excellent features, clear and crisp picture, very good audio quality, zoom is better than any sony camcorders.
just remember you will eventually need a good travel case,a wind screen, extra batteries, a heavy-duty professional tripod and additional lenses to complete your experience.
i have used the camera on sets and on outdoor documentary sports shoots.
best product for the price!
you can buy a camera for 1/3 of the price that does not show this "feature" - therefore its canons problem.
