i have had just a point and shoot 2mp for years it was time to update i was little nervous over the price but it is cheaper than buying 2 seperate cameras which was what i was looking at.
moreover its cheaper and more convenient to use the computer's internal dvd writer or external dvd writer than to use this camcorder as a dvd burner.

i bought 6 of those tapes for $19, so it is very inexpensive to buy the media for thiscamera.

this was solved by purchasing a firewire cable and utilizing the ilink connection and windows video software.
but it is an one ccd product, so the outdoor color is the weaknesses compare with 250, but it's enough for me.
in summary, it is a economical and good camcorder.

under the hood this sony camcorder is basically an improved version of the dcr-pc350 at a better price although some stores are liquidating the pc350 at about 100$ cheaper than the hc90.

you may want to seriously consider buying a camera with a light on it if you plan to do recording in dark places or outside at night.
when i connected the jvc to my laptop, windows xp immediately recognized the connection and transferring images from the media card was very easy.
i got mine on sale for really cheap a few years ago, about $250.
low light image is sub standard, but what can you expect for the price.
