this little camcorder is easy to tuck in your pocket or purse and have it available at a moment's notice!
it's easy to use, takes great pictures and you're getting alot of value for the price.
even though it is light, i provide support to the camcorder when it is attached to the usb port of my laptop.
though the zoom power is not that amazing, it's like any other compact digital camera.
i love my flip camcorder, it's so easy to use and above all sooo handy, fits in your purse....always ready!
it is slightly larger than the (very compact) dcr 47-87 series.sony dcr-sr47 hard disk drive handycam camcorder (silver) however, it will still almost fit in the palm of your hand.
the camcorder must do a good job of adjusting for fast motion or shaking because it didn't make us sick watching the video.
it allows effortless transfer of files from the camcorder to your computer, and easy (if somewhat plain) video dvd creation.
to anyone looking for a user-friendly and affordable camcorder, i highly recommend this one.
i use this camcorder for recording night youth football games under lights, for the most part.
it is incredibly small and light.
last thing, yes, they stripped this unit of a few features but, seriously, who besides paris hilton uses the night vision?
zoom also needs improvemnt.
super easy to use although the on screen menus take a little figuring out.

also, with canon mini-accessory shoe, you can attach a dm-100 "shotgun" mic to is which is superb (it also has a furry wind filter which works excellent outdoors).
you have it set up to film little billy in the corner but then he walks over to the window so now you lighting has changed.
this is a great canon camcorder for a very good price.
sony seems to be the only option but it's expensive.
whats also good about it is that it records to a 60gb hard drive as well as sdhc cards for more space.the price varies all over the web, but i recommend best buy because with the web purchase, you

this jvc is the first camcorder i've ever owned, and i have to confess i was concerned it would be difficult to figure out given that i only understand about half of the lengthy product description
this is a fantastic, great looking camcorder and i love it's compact size.
i notice that if i use it indoors it isn't quite as rich as it is outdoors unless i have the lights on bright.
the video i took outdoors was excellent quality, and i know the camcorder's image stabilization did a good job of mitigating my unfortunate tendency to jiggle it while filming.
it is well worth the price.
even though the price is high you are getting a 12.1 mp camera too so its worth it.
what's great about it:?low light, optical stabilizer, instant on, user friendly menu, great videos and stills what's not so great:?none "i have an a1 as my main camera and the 500v just compliments

i tried the zoom microphone feature and that made it very difficult to hear them, almost like they were in a tunnel or something.
it's modeled after the near perfect dvx line of panasonic cameras, has a great lens, and terrific display screen.
it has a list of features like a waveform monitor and several external controls for all of it's features, making easy to do on the fly adjustments.
on editing, bought the pinnacle 12 ultimate because it is set up to handle the avhcd format and a pc with the amd quad phenom processor with 3 gb of ram.
for a fraction of the price of a p2 card, you get unbeatable storage capacities and beautiful image quality.
from what i've seen on vimeo and read on forums, other hd cameras in the panasonic line up like the hvx and hpx, offer just about the same image quality but their prices are thousands more and you're
easy-to-use, intuitive menu navigation.
it is very small and light, but does a great job with pretty much anything, but it does struggle in the dark like every other camcorder under 2-3 grand.
the only reason i did not give this camcorder a 5 star is because one of the pixels on the lcd screen was broken when we took it out of the box, and amazon won't exchange it for only one broken pixel.
i wanted to buy a different software program that i can use with my windows vista 64 bit that runs in my computer, but i need to make sure it is compatable with 64 bit and not just 32 bit.
if you need a high end editing program your stuck with buying a suite from adobe which is very expensive or wait until a different software is updated.
After doing much research I bought this camera from a chain store to ensure that I could return it easily if need be.
Bought this for my daughter to video her horse riding hobby, easy to work, good video quality.
Great camcorder...just upgraded from C-VHS.
I bought this camera to replace a Sony DVD handycam and I'm so happy with my choice.
i love this camcorder.
it is a reasonable price for a good product and would recommend it if you are not extra fussy over picture quality.
what's great about it:?easy to use what's not so great:?not a whole lot of features "this product is simple to use and rids the complications involved in using a camera.
it is an easy to use camcorder with a lot of features that you will not regret buying at such a low price!
what's great about it:?good price and easy to set up, what's not so great:?nothing, to me anyway "i must say that this is my first camcorder and i am having a ball with it.
overall, a very good product at a very reasonable price.
I always travel with a camera and a camcorder in tow, and run through multiple cassettes and GBs of photographs (I shoot in RAW mode) each month.
As with all recent-generation cameras, the image quality on the HV40 is simply excellent.

Camcorders are tough to review.
Features:****
it's so easy to use and you will fall in love with the quality !!!!!
if you want some of the more fancy camcorder options, you'll be disappointed (i dropped a star because i really would like to be able to zoom), but really this product is different from your
i highly recommend this flip minohd because it is so easy to film, edit and upload to the internet or email the finished product to friends without a high tech nerd degree.
the thing i like about the product is that it is simple, easy-to-use, and gives me a great picture.
it's easy to use and transfert video to my pc and it's a very smart product!
the software is simple and easy to use, and it does work on windows vista, you just have to make sure to download the included disc and plug the camera in and download it also (i made that mistake).
it is nice that you can use regular aa batteries because you can just buy a pack of batteries for cheap price and have many hours of recording time.
what's great about it:?easy to use, software works, takes good video what's not so great:?usb could be longer "very good video for the price.
what's great about it:?cheap, small, great video quality !!!!!!!!!!
what's great about it:?easy to use what's not so great:?night time usage sucks "don't think about using it at night.
there will probably be such accessories forthcoming but for now, it's tough to take pics or movies in the dark.
this translates to a very compact "form factor" for a full-blown high definition camcorder.
the camcorder is very pleasant to the touch, easy-to-hold, simple to use.
it is sturdy and compact (no moving parts other than auto lense cover); very easy to operate with great battery life; the hd video (can recored up to 12 hrs)it captured just blew me away...
it's ultra compact but don't let that fool you when it's comes to the performance.
This is the best of the three Samsung camcorders I have used.
A good choice.
Well, in my experience success with camcorders for us normal people is all about ease of use, ease of use, ease of use, and this camcorder has it, big time!
Every year, Samsung realeases a new consumer-grade camcorder which seems to better the previous years in some small ways.
First, I highly recomend reading the entire manual if you are inexperienced with this technology as there are some details you will need to learn.
+ HD Material compatible with Mac iLife and PS3 without converting
i have owned a bunch of sanyo starting from they first sanyo hd1.
I have been able to watch recorded videos on my PC using VLC by lowering the resolution.
awesome, it has everything you need to get started producing some pro videos.

After some research and because I own a Panasonic Camera.
So far so good - excellent zoom, audio quality, nice to have so much recording time to the HDD.
Bought this camera for $359, which I thought was a great price for the 60GB HDD and the 70x optical zoom.
First off, I was looking for a replacement for my JVC mini-DV camcorder which I used extensively last year.
I bought the Panasonic SDR-H80 digital video camera from Best Buy yesterday (May 23, 2009).
without time to read directions thoroughly, bought this camcorder because of the 70x zoom to use on animal hapenings.
sure it is a basic camcorder but for the price you get optical image stabilization that really works, 70x optical zoom, pocket size, and youtube upload.
this panasonic sdr-s26 camcorder is by far the best you can buy for the price, and is rated best camcorder of 2009 ces!
it's clear, crisp and really light weight.
it's small and light, and the battery life is pretty good.
what's great about it:?convenient, easy to use, uses rechargeable or aa batteries "great to carry in pocket or purse so it is always handy.
zoom- this is one of the bad things about it- they sacrificed optical zoom to make it more compact and less complicated and put on digital; the quality doesn't degrade that badly, but it's noticeable.
the only reason that it can't serve as my primary camcorder is that the zoom is extremely limited as you'll see in the video.
basically it has no zoom but these types of camcorders usually have useless digital zooms, so its no big deal to me.
all in all, a fantastic product and only half the price, with twice the recording capacity (in hd!) of a regular dvc camera.
Am very well satisfied with the camcorder.
Having said this, if you want crystal clarity when played on your high-def TV, consider purchasing the high-def camcorder.
For the price, it is decent.
Good camcoder ....
Great camara, you really get for what you play, it's really small, so that is perfect to carry around in purse!
