I think this is the best camera for that and I all ways carrying with me because you never know when you are going to catch the best moment. Put it in your pocket and you all set. There is no other camera is that small, even nice HD small canons require a camera bag. Video quality is good, HD movies are like real HD 720p with on iso 50 and 100. from Amazon.com I mean, the quality is worse than the pathetic camera we're trying to replace which we got as a wedding gift...11 years ago! It's a Fuji FinePix, 2MP, 3x zoom, and we have better photos with it than with the disappointing xacti. My biggest complaints: 1) the flash- it says that red-eye reduction is built in, but it does not do the double-flash-thing. The 640 by 480 quality (TV Quality setting) was incredible for Facebook. I have not tried the HD (720) setting yet.
