I just purchased the JVC Everio MS 130 color blue, a week ago. (I got it at Best Buy). from Amazon.com Pros: camera is easy to use & small and has OK video quality Cons: file format is imcompatible with nearly all generally accepted video format and included JVC software is next to impossible to use. Video files must be converted with included lousy software and cannot be exported directly from camera to computer to be saved. from Newegg.com I'm a camcorder newbie and bought the JVC MS130BU basically on an impulse at Walmart. I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but I took the plunge because I needed a video camera fast. from Amazon.com Ultrafine has 9100k and Fine has 8400k data rate. The software provided for conversion only converts to WMF at low data rates, so is not useful. Oh, and JVC was completely unhelpful in this regard. Video files must be converted with included lousy software and cannot be exported directly from camera to computer to be saved. from Newegg.com Pros: Very compact size, lightweight, looks nice, solidly built, has built in storage and SD card slot for even more storage, touch screen interface w/o having to worry about getting smudges and fingerprints all over the crystal clear LCD display, so easy to use you don't even need a manual, 40x Optical zoom, image stabilization, built in LED light. Cons: None yet Other Thoughts: I was shopping for a camcorder and after reading up on all of the current models out that were in my price range I headed out to get my hands on some and do some comparisons myself. I had handled cameras that were up to $600 but as soon as I handled this one I was sold. from Newegg.com Pros: Very easy to use, very intuitive, my 6th grade daughter had it figured out in 30 minutes. The fact that she can set it up, get it working and discover all the features is enough to say. from Newegg.com
