Flimsy cover retainers. No HDMI cable supplied. The Bottom Line: A few shortcomings, none of which affect final image and sound, can be mostly ignored as the Canon HG21 provides a satisfying video in an easy-to-use package. The additional battery is a must, so factor that in the price. I have an Apple (running 10.5.7 iMovie '09) and had no issues importing and editing video without the need for Canon's software.
