i compared it to more expensive sony hd camcorders with built-in hard drives, but ultimately decided to go with the ms/dvd camcorder so i could catalog my movies, avoid having all my stuff on one

if you are deciding between the sony cx12 and any other camcorder i recommend the sony cx12...
