for a fraction of the price of a p2 card, you get unbeatable storage capacities and beautiful image quality.
from what i've seen on vimeo and read on forums, other hd cameras in the panasonic line up like the hvx and hpx, offer just about the same image quality but their prices are thousands more and you're
finely tuning focus or creating massive depth of field and soft backgrounds with ease, i think the focus ring is actually better than that of some of the more expensive p2 cameras panasonic offers.
the recording media is very affordable, i bought to 16gb class 6 sdhc cards when i purchased this camera and so far is the easiest format to use especially if you come from a background using dslr's.
to put such tiny sensors in a $3500 is poor, cheap engineering especially when slr have larger sensors, shoot hd and don't cost this much.
this panasonic sdr-s26 camcorder is by far the best you can buy for the price, and is rated best camcorder of 2009 ces!
i simply transfer the videos where i want them via the usb interface, and watch them using windows media player.
you won't find high optical zoom, hd video, and low price.
for every day i can't find a better value - love this camera and sellers excellent service - highly recomend to friends - relatives - heck everyone!
extra batteries are cheap, so get a couple.
we got acceptable quality when we filmed outdoors in full sunlight.
i use windows xp service pack 3 and it only works with vista or service pack 2.
i'll start by saying what everyone else is saying, for the price, this camera is a gem.
excellent camcorder for the price, got it few days from 6th ave.
but overall, a+, especially given the price i bought this at (around $300 on amazon).
