what's not so great:?runs on batteries "this product is great it takes great videos and pictures i would recommend this product to anyone who would like a decent but cheap camcorder.
outdoors the display is so dim it is hard to see.
but you cant down load if you have vista windows, when i e-mailed aiptex about it thay have no cd driver to down load driver for vista windows.
the night time recording is not as good as daytime due to lack of lighting, and it does blur if there is lots of movement.
this camera dose not do good in cold weather well if you just keep it outside like i did lines start to appearwhen it warms back up its like nothing happend..
aiptek should not feel toobad though, since almost no manufactuer adds a real mic input on their entry level low cost camcorder anymore!
for the cost and the quality, it has a good fit with my normal outdoor gear.
i was concerned about some of the complaints regarding short battery life, noisy zoom lens and an overall cheap plastic feel of this camera, but it was a great value & i decided to give it a try.
playing files in windows media player gives poor sound synchronization.
the screen is hard to see in bright daylight (i've never known an lcd that wasn't) and the "little blue light" is somewhat bothersome after a while.

For me, its like a toy and its portability and low price allows me to use it in conditions i would not use my normal camcorder in.
You almost need sunlight to get a good quality video.
Good Video quality for well lit and outdoor areas, and simple and easy to use interface.
If you're outdoors, they are fine.
The camera works great outside in natural light and the stabilizer helps out with smooth video.
Best results will be obtained outdoors in strong light, at ranges > 6 feet.
Video is OK in daylight.

The videos in sunlight are very good.
I also run Windows under Parallels, and have no trouble loading MP3s and other files into the camera from there.
I've only had the camera a couple days, but so far it seems a good value for what it does.
Pros: Inexpensive, easy to operate, and has many features.
With all this plus a low price, how could you go wrong?
