the scanner is no speed demon, but it's fast enough, and if a receipt goes crooked or sticks on its way through, it's easy enough to rescan it.

once you get beyond that calibration issue you could proceed through the video that demonstrates how the device and software works, though the software is fairly intuitive, at least to get started
