I have been doing commercial radio production for years using CE Pro and Audition 1.5. Our company just recently purchased vista workstations
this was very smart, as it eliminates the need to learn a new ui. Cons: this version is actually less compatible with vista than the older 1.5! what was adobe thinking. i had to go through patch purgatory to get this thing working on vista 64bit.
For pure audio editing tasks, Audition is right on target. The available effects are excellent, as are the various other editing functions.
Adobe Audition was a great program before it was owned by Adobe, when it was called Cooledit. If it works, it has a great and useful set of features.
for a broadcast radio network. When I took over this position in the last year, the "standard" DAW program was quite antiquated, as was the entire computer network. Some of the employees had used Audition and it's predecessor Cool Edit in the past and were very constrained by the current standard. We will be converting every DAW program to Audition as we upgrade the computers.
The quick-loading software and no-nonsense interface kept me using it long after more advanced programs had been released. With our recent upgrade in recording hardware, I decided to upgrade my recording software as well. Adobe Audition 3 was the obvious choice, as it is the successor to Cool Edit. I am happy to say that it retains all of the things that made Cool Edit awesome, while adding a host of excellent new features.
Our church group purchased this software for making Biblical teachings ready for radio and the web. Although we aren't exactly high tech, we needed something easy to learn and provided professional results. Audition has lived up to that expectation. And we have had only one minor problem.
I purchased Adobe Audition 3 because I need a multitrack sound editor in my work with videos. I use Adobe CS3 Master Suite that comes with Soundbooth CS3, but Soundbooth does not have a multitrack interface.
Adobe Audition is the closet I could get to Professional audio editing without going broke...lots of bang for my buck! Very sophisticated little package...user friendly and loads of tutorials.
This is basically Audition 2.0 with midi capabilities and VSTi support. The GUI (Graphic User Interface) looks exactly like 2.0, which isn't bad, but I was expecting something more "pretty" like Cubase 4.
