[...]the dehumidifier works as it should...the water pan is a little awkward to empty as most of them are....great value...i saved approximately $60.00 over the in store product...
strangely, this dehumidifier has a tiny bucket (smaller than on 40 pint units) so it fills up in a few hours.
it might be a little bit noisy but it works great at drying out my basement.[...] i'm happy with the dehumidifier and with adt.
i am completely satisfied with this product [...] pros: compact, easy to assemble, easy to clean, powerful, simple controls cons: loud best uses: everyday use
the low setting is a little bit better but still noisy.i would definitely recommend this product if you have a dank basement.
i have been using this dehumidifier in a 1000 square foot garage application for a little over 1 month and it is doing the job nicely.
read all the reviews and was a little concerned about what some of the others had to say about this dehumidifier, but i have had good luck with frigidaire, so i decided to give it a shot.
a few seconds after adjusting it, the readout switches from the humidistat-reading to a hygrometer-reading, which displayed within a few percentage points as a little, nearby digital
it is a little noisy (i have the fan on high), but i have it in the basement area away from the rec room and the noise is not objectionable.
very bulky (like any other dehumidifier).
great little product.
this is a neat little product if your apartment doesn't circulate cool air very well.
what a great little product.
this is an excellent little dehumidifier.
putting things in the oven for 3 hours (or 15 hours at 275 f as the envelope types needed) takes up a lot of energy as well as requiring you to pay attention to it (granted, not a lot of attention
efficient cons: tiny bucket.
after a little better than one month, this product has done everything that it said it would do.
i like the soleus unit in terms of its small size and performance at the low setting, and it is very quite, the quietest dehumidifier i have ever had.
the soleus cfm-40 great little product.
the only nit-pick with the soleus is that you have to be a little careful when emptying the tank when it is clear full.
the area is relatively small- about 6 feet across, 4 feet deep and about 2 feet high minus the space the actual tub takes up- i approximated it is less than 50 square feet of area.
it will last for about 2 weeks or so , then the bb`s in it will turn pink and you can see a little mosture in the glass housing the bb`s , which means the unit needs to be recharge , or dryed out .
although in california is not so humid but little moisture do add up.
i too had one unit fall, and was fortunate the case stayed intact but the little beads could make for a real mess if the unit broke open!
the little globules that you can see through the tiny window on the front gradually turn from blue to a very light pink as they fill up with moisture.
the tank is a little snug, but you won't have trouble removing it.
the instructions say to connect a garden hose to the dehumidifier for continuous draining, but i did something a little different.
i am totally happy with this dehumifier with the exception of that i wish it were a little quieter.
the tray is just a bit too snug to make emptying the reservoir an easy task (you have to work it a little), but this is my only nitpick.
with all of the wet weather this turned out to be a perfect choice and considering the size it is quite quiet.
it might be a little noisy if you have it in a living quarter bt for the basement it's fine.
if you have it such that a little water gets into the bucket and the hose, it may be a potential for mold growth.
if you compare it to your average box fan with three settings, i would say it's substantially quieter than the highest setting and a little bit louder than the medium setting.
dollars/feature and size were also good, at least in these parts.
fairly quiet...puts out a little heat but has solved my problem of musty air stink...i like to open the windows at night and use some fans to get a good draw...really cools the house down but gets
in the "economy" mode it was less effective - in fact would do very little.
it fits neatly into our tiny bathroom, and doesn't stick out at all.
the shape is nice and not too big.
this unit takes up 20 pints
it works well, but it is noisy pros: compact, easy to assemble, easy to clean, powerful cons: loud best uses: everyday use
good pros: compact, perfect for my needs, powerful, simple controls cons: loud best uses: everyday use, large rooms
the whirlpool has a thick plastic housing and feels like it's packed with insulation (fair size, little weight).
pros: compact, easy to assemble, easy to clean, powerful, simple controls
the hose drain was a little tricky to install, but i have not had to empty the unit since it was installed.
this dehumidifier was recently the top rated medium sized dehumidifier by consumer reports (6/08).
while a little on the noisy side, i have noticed a significant decrease in the humidity levels in our house and a much more comfortable environment since buying this unit.
it's a bit overkill for the size, but it works very well.
i bought one of these dehumidifiers a little less than 2 years ago for my basement.
on the other hand, the small size is convenient for storage and keeping it from obstructing things while in use.
if you don't mind this little issue, then it is probably the best deal you can find.
this machine is quite the little workhorse; i am impressed.
a full tank is easy enough to handle to carry out and empty (45 pint size would be challenging, i think).
love this little wonder.
the unit has a small footprint, takes up about the same space as a paper shredder.
drain pipe not same thread size as standard garden hose, so unable to attach longer hose and move unit around to different locations.
