we are planning to connect the tubing to have it empty outside.

i sleep with it right outside my bedroom door.

i live in colorado where the outside humidity level is usually between 10-20%.

i hang mine just out outside our guinea pig's cage and it absorbs excess moisture quite effectively, keeping their food and cage area from getting too humid.

relative humidity outside has been in the 80% - 90% range and this unit really makes a difference, it feels much more comfortable in the house now, in the room it's in, and in the rooms adjacent.
