dock one star for noise.
the previous amcor product did an ok job but this one is superior in the amount of humidity it removes from the air, its appearance and construction.
we're aiming for 45%; will let you know.compared to the previous rattlebanger, this one sounds like it's running quite smoothly.
yeah, i have humidity issues.the auto shutoff at high water level is a very nice touch, and the bucket has a lot of splash guards in place which is a good couter for one of it's cons.
to return it and get another one, which to me seems rediculous if this is the way this unit operates, it seems to be very accurate and very efficient at lowering the humidty in our finished basement.
i would rank this product 5 out of 5 stars if it weren't for the one setback of not having an energy saver mode by which it turns itself on and off every 2 or 4 hours.
as one reviewer has mentioned, the grill work is different than the one shown, but it is almost certainly the same mechanism.
this dehumidifier is without a doubt the best one i have ever owned.
this dehumidifier is the best one i have ever owned!!
basement and it ran continously for about one week.
it is a surprising small product so i checked the paper work to see that i order the correct one ...
i've yet to see a truly quiet dehumidifier but this one is quieter than most.
have had one running in a basement room on "continuous" setting for over 5 years- humidity stays between 30 and 40%, year round- could never store anything there but now it is drier than the attic
maybe i'm just not hearing it as my old one was so noisy!
we were very excited to recieve our dehumidifier, especially since our previous one died a long and painfully noisy death.
very happy with this product -love that it is portable -only drawback is that it means you have to empty it more frequently than a larger one but the fact that it can be easily moved from different
very good product, and would recomment it highly to anyone who needs one.
after a little better than one month, this product has done everything that it said it would do.
that would be my one criticism of the product if it was not offset by merely turning the ac down a degree or two.
one thing....be aware this product generates some heat into the air as well as dehumidifying it.
only two things kept me from giving this device a "5-star" rating; one, there is no smart (trickle) charging system...you must unplug it after 12-hours or it gets hot!!
i got one of these last year, and it solved that problem.
now i keep them in plastic boxes with one of your products in each box and ever since i have had no problems!
get 2 so one can be charged while the other is about to be used up.
i have now used them for one year and heartily recommend them.
this one is the quietest i've ever heard - a perfect choice for us.
this one is sooo quiet compared to them.
i found the unit more effective when set specifically to one of the % range settings - managing to remove several pints of water from the air daily.
i wanted to get a small one but we live in a very humid place in far northern california (california is not all sunshine and heat) and i needed something more powerful.
if this unit ever dies, i hope the same model will still be around because i'll buy the same one again as a replacement.
i would definitely buy another and am seriously considering it, since i need one in two different parts of my building.
i can't claim much previous experience with dehumidifiers, but this one did the job, and did it well.
i never had heard of the windchaser brand but decided to take a chance on one of their dehumidifiers.
soo pick your poison on that one.
i'd been researching dehumidifiers all over the web and finally chose this one, hoping it would be quiet and would remove some dampness from our rec room.
noticed a difference in our basement's air quality within one day!
couldn't find one in my area so i turned to internet, looked for recommendations/reviews and went with the haier.
this is doing alot better job than the previous one.
it is in an unheated area and doesn't freeze up and shake like the ones from sears.
i haven't had the dehumidifer for very long, but it seems to be drying out this one closet that has always smelled musty.
if it works as good as i think it is, i will order another one.
when i renew one of the units, it falls out of the outlet unless i support it with something else.
i bought one and liked it so well, i bought another.
one thing to note is that they can get pretty hot if you leave them plugged in for a very long time (like a week).
i too had one unit fall, and was fortunate the case stayed intact but the little beads could make for a real mess if the unit broke open!
i take one star away because water can drip into the bucket even if the hose is connected if it isn't leveled just right for the water to go down the hose.
i left the settings on full at first; in one day there was no visible water, in two days there was no obvious dampness, and by the third or fourth day, i turned the settings to normal, and the unit
my mom has had 2 prior dehumidifier units of different brands, one died after 10 years, the second only 4, but neither had a filter.
i have used this dehumidifier for several months and recomended to my mother to get one also.
i take out a bucket of water in the morning and then one in the evening.
